Its easier for you to file a T1ADJ form. You can download it of the CRA website and its pretty straightforward on how to use it.I know this is a bit last minute but here is the story. No you don't. The CRA would prefer you amend your original return by filing a T1ADJ form (T1 Adjustment). You can file an amended tax retur,
You don't even have to wait. He might nip the NOA in the bud if he files the T1-ADJ right away. They might combine both before the NOA or subsequently issue a Notice of Re-Assessment so that he pays less tax or gets more of a refund without having to be 1st assessed without the missed deduction.Wait until you get your notice of assessment, then file a T1-ADJ. You can download and fill in the form directly from CRA's website.
That may work, but it is not the proper way to do it as you may just get your T1-ADJ returned to you saying that it cannot be processed as the return has not been assessed, especially if it was paper-filed.You don't even have to wait. I've filed T1-AJD right after I realized that I was missing a few deductions. They will send you a separate letter confirming receipt of your 'additional info'. Then just wait for the results.
Or for those not wishing to call in. On page 55 of the T1 General guide:Sounds like an easy question for CRA's 1-800 folks.
