the break where I surf
Hey there, I am looking at taking a short break from my career and venturing into the world of teaching English abroad. I am wondering if anyone here has any advice or information to share regarding a reputable agency or certification centre that can help me get started. Thanks.

Do a search online. There are many good sites to get advice from like this one:

My advice is to pick an area that you'll like to work in and start applying to some jobs. Stay away from the private recruiters. Many of them are crooks. Deal with the school directly if possible. It is absolutely critical that you pick a good school especially for your first gig. Once you land in the country and sign a contract, you will be at their mercy. Do your homework.

I'm currently teaching English in China. I lucked out with a good school and I'm having a blast. I highly recommend it. There are some shadey schools so watch out.

Hope that helps.
