can some of you TERB veterans enlighten me on who the "TERB alliances" are in this forum?

are there untouchables? guys who automatically get support from other members and mods?

I like to tweak folks in a generally good natured way, and engage in vigorous spirited debate. I am open to being persuaded and convinced of others point of view too, there are clearly some highly intelligent posters on here, a few know it alls, and a few nutbars !

I can't say I've noticed any alliances. How people line up on a topic varies from issue to issue.

Some of us are more right-wing; some are more left-wing. But there are differences among the righties and the lefties and people from either side may find themselves aligned in agreement or disagreement on an issue.

For example, views on religious matters don't necessarily split along left/right lines.

Fuji a free agent?? I'd call him Cap't Thinks he Knows It All
Blackrock is more of a hall monitor

I am delighted to be in the weirdo camp ! although that ceiling cat dude is far from my cup of tea

Surprising how an extra year on TERB gives one better insight on these things. On this I agree with you totally MF2.

Just curious why you are asking these questions? Do you suspect something?

The "A" team???

Seriously Yolosohobby, use judgement and prudence, if you think something is over the top, rewrite it.

There is respectful disagreement, and there is being disrespectful.

I would think from their posting history, some people have earned a level of respect while others have earned a reputation that is....well you know.

One of the great things about this place is the pleasant surprise I feel when a fellow poster seems to share my (obviously well-thought-out and astute) opinion on something. I find myself warming to a person I have never met and probably never will. But warming to them nonetheless. I am filled with the milk of human kindness and bask in the camaraderie of a kindred spirit. ...This is inevitably followed by my absolute conviction that they are an idiot and a dickhead when I find them disagreeing with me on the next random thread's issue-of-note.

LOL.

That's very similar to the way people read newspapers. It's no coincidence that most people's favourite columnists -- and sometimes, their favourite newspapers (eg., Fuji - the Toronto Star) -- tend to be the ones with views that are closest to their own.

I really don't believe this left wing, right wing nonsense. I don't see why you should have to be anti abortion just because you believe in free trade, or support unions just because you believe in universal health care. I don't get why supporting civil rights should make your anti gun. And so on.

Tend to agree, that there appears to be alliances. Especially among the unionist here.

Then there are the lawyers.

Some rich people, or well off at least.

Assorted losers. Drunks perhaps.

What I find somewhat surprising is the political forum how doctrinaire people tend to be, and they try to win arguments with dogma.

Can't really blame 'em. Worked for that W Bush fellow, and that Obama character.
