One of the things I remember most about those early days is being able to read each and every post made. In order to do that nowadays, you wouldn't even have the time to do any hobbying. How many server upgrades have there been? Those were always uncomfortable; like breaking in new underwear.
I know my first post/thread is gone but it's a good thing as it revealed things about me that I wouldn't want people to know. I'd still like to see it again for old time's sake. Hey, Fred, can I borrow the keys to the DTR???

Before Canbest I was very active on the alt.sex.prostittution newsgroup before there were websites. We used packet readers downloading messages at 300 baud. that is 300ps not kps even. Each message took a long time to download and read. I used OS/2 for many years which was far better than the original versions of Windows which was a lot better than DOS programs.
Before that I remember the days of card readers, key punch machinrs and big machines like Burroughs. And wow then there was the Selectric Typerwiter a HUGE improvement from what we used to use like my Remington Electric better than those hand typewriters you had to punch hard to get the keys to strike the ribbon to make a solid letter..

In January 2002 I was searching for comments and info about Pleasure Business in Toronto. Some Google or Yahoo search took me to a site called bbbforjohns.com which I perused a couple of times, then I read a post that had " TERB " in it. At first I thought it was an abreviation or even someone's handle, then some guy was admonished for promoting "Terb" and it occured to me that it must be a rival board, so I did a search for Terb.
I visited once or twice a week strictly as a voyeur through 2002 & early 2003, lost touch for a while and when I returned the review boards were restricted access. Only visited once in 2004 - somebody forgot to log-out at a cyber cafe and I spent 2 hours trying to catch up. That renewed my interest and I finally joined last year.
I knew of starblvd even earlier but wasn't aware of the connection. I was looking for some comany on Yorkville and search random Yorkville addresses - eventually getting 50.Yorkville - NOT what Iwas looking for, but I was fascinated and followed up.

I though Canbest was pretty good for the strip club info. I visited Canbest strictly for that info. I liked how it was organized... that there was a separate forum for each club. I forgot about lyla's list! Canbest was terrible, but sometimes they had more info on the MP scene. It's still hard to believe that the best MP that ever was was above Mr. Sub at Bay and Yorkville on the cusp of the toniest piece of real estate in the city! LOL
Terb was so much wilder in those days, and yet also tamer by today's fast food standards on Terb.
Yes I liked the format which is why I list all the MPs and strip club with their own reviews of mine on sexworktoronto.com and set up sexworkniagarafalls.com discussion board instead of a website the same way so easier to look up reviews per club/MP or Provider.Don said:
Easier to do for a smaller city like I did for Hamilton, Niagara Falls and London vs huge city like Toronto but on the Toronto website its just my reviews and trip reports. I have them both by trip and again linked by strip club, and massage parlor.
Helps me to keep track of who I have seen where especially MP and escorts.

Ah yes now I sort of recall that. Nice we have folks with better memories as Historians. Some of us were on the odd named prior board Fred had before it was terb... can never remember the name in my old age.drlove said:
I recall being on another board called "Men Behaving Badly" . My handle there was "Saint". I moved over to TERB because the other board disappeared. Was still "Saint" for a while, then couldn't access my account for some reason, so had to change my handle... Anyway - good times here, and lots of good info to be gained!
