I'm sure Sheik is getting tired of advising people that the Advertisers Section is only for people who have paid to post in this section. It seems at least one a week, sometimes every second day, a thread goes kinda crazy. Sometimes reviewing this section is more exciting than the lounge. BUT, I've gotta wonder if there is a better way. Fred is in business to make money. Service Providers pay out bucks to be in the Advertising Section. Guys read the posts and in some cases, trash a lady, who gets defensive and feels the need to set things straight. It usually esculates into an all out battle. The guy has his fun, the lady gets angry and says something she regrets, which in time may translate to: F*ck this, I'm not paying good money to be trashed on this Board.

My question is: Are there any solutions either than not allowing people to respond to post on the advertising section. One answer may be for replies to go through a mod before they are allowed to be shown. This may not be possible. The Mods are probably busy enough as it is, but perhaps the charges to the posters could cover this.

Another answer may be for individuals to respond on whatever forum they wish by showing the link (to the advertisers post) and then putting forward their response.

Well as I see it NO replies are ever needed, nothing in there really needs to be discussed in an open forum

if you have a question about anything the advertisers post, PM them, if its something the SP feels might be asked a lot or that she does get a lot of PM's about, then she'll post it accordingly.

An advertiser can opt to have their advertising threads locked.
The problem is some advertisers don't mind feedback while others do, so we only lock the thread if the advertiser so requests.

ps: It's possible to set permissions in such a way that only advertisers can post in the advertiser forum, that's another tool at our disposal.

Thanks Fred,

Another plus of not locking the thread is that the post goes back to the top of the section after somebody responds.

Time is money and members may not want (or have time) to go to the bottom of the page or to a second page. Being on the top of the page translates to the message (advertisement) being seen by more viewers.

True. And sometimes the advertiser wants to showcase changes to website, or needs feedback on certain aspects of their site/service.

.

is that really fair when we are being mislead with the advertisers post, as has been the case as of late here. A specific advertiser has been cought shilling, lying, and misleading clients, then all of a sudden the threads are locked so no one can complain and advise the other memebers of what is going on.

that is not right imho.

You can discuss the provider in other areas of the board ofcourse !
Would Eros, Redzone or Eye allow you to submit a comment about a provider's ad ? At least here you can do that, but the Advertiser Forum is a for pay service hence the purchaser of the ad can ask for their thread to be locked.

That is a fine option, and solution to the problem for the ladies who want it.

Would not want to see all posts locked in the advertisers section as most ladies likely appreciate feedback. Unfortunately, sometimes the feedback does not go 100% the way they would like. It is all part of the game.

I'm of the opinion that there should be no discussion in the advertising forums, positive or negative.

If a service provider requires "feedback" about something, there is nothing stopping him or her from posting a thread in a different forum.

This isn't just about the idiots who chime him to say "What? She's not worth that much! I could have sex with the Bush twins while being covered with unrefined Texas oil for that much money!", but also the saps who contribute "Wow. This is the greatest deal ever. I can't believe how lucky we men are to be offered such an incredible break. You'd have to be an idiot or Fang if you pass this one up."

The thing is, the SP's who complain loudest about the former tend to be the ones that actively cultivate the latter.

I think it should be done.

The difference is so subtle it escapes me...you may want to rephrase that to "you'd have to be Goober or Fang if you pass this one up"

No wait...that difference is too subtle too...perhaps if we include Wrong Hole?
