A lot of countries in the world will disagree with you. They may agree
Russia is a regional threat. Only a small minority of world's nations are
willing to finance Ukraine to fight on. And some if not most of them will
likely give up on Zelensky soon.
That's too funny. Withholding the truth is committing an act of war? It is nothing like when Putin's tanks crossed the border into Ukrainian land or like Hamas on Oct.7 when 1,200 civilians were slaughtered and raped.
How exactly do you know if Ukrainians want to keep fighting? So many have left the country. Polls suggest a majority of Ukrainians are tired of the conflict and are willing to concede territory for an end to the war. The Ukrainians haven't held an election in six years. This is not to say they aren't a democracy. It's just pointing out we don't know what Ukrainians want.
People have a tendency to create their own histories, their own narratives. I remember when I was younger people saying the U.S. should have bombed the North Koreans and the North Vietnamese into submission. They're still some of those people still around saying it today. Now I think we can all agree that North Korea is a pretty evil and dangerous regime. So we could say vanquishing North Korea had a similar moral imperative in play.
Of course no two wars are exactly the same, but they follow similar paths. Most wars do not have satisfactory endings. The costs and risks in a war often become too high to continue pursuing a satisfactory outcome.
So we need to ask aside from the moral imperative, what are the next steps in conducting this war? Do we encourage the Ukrainians to start lobbing missiles into Moscow and other Russian cities? Many of us don't see a next step other than more carnage and destruction on a slow, grinding front line.
Words are stronger then swords. Yes its often words that start wars. Russia has said for a very long time that Ukraine in NATO was a red line. They put their tanks there to put pressure on Ukraine for sure. They were content to leave the pressure on for an extended period, but what we also know is that to further provoke the action, the Ukrainians increased their attacks on Donbas, and that is when Russia hit the go button.
Why don't you check with Ukrainians instead of listening to Putin and trump?
I don't believe that words have ever been considered an act of war. I guess there was no need for the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Japanese could have just insulted Babe Ruth instead.
Putting tanks on the border was not an act of war. Sending them over the border and bombing the shit out of Ukraine, most definitely was.

Sorry to be the voice of reality, and I'm on record as no fan of Putin, and no unprovoked invasion of a sovereign country is ever justified, but this war only ends with the ceding of the Ukrainian territory that Russia now controls, territory that is largely ethnically Russian and which was/is politically opposed to the Zelensky government. Who knows, there may be a day in the future when Ukraine reacquires those territories (just as it did post USSR), but that day is not today nor in the near future. Ukraine needs to repair itself and rebuild its population for that day. The politics of Russia are fluid.
