Did you know that you can send a text message from a Rogers cellphone to a Bell landline telephone? The Rogers system converts the text and the Bell landline phone recipient gets a verbal message delivered by a computerized human voice (female). Pretty neat, huh?

Yes, this feature existed for over 2 years now. If memory serves me right, a $0.50 applies per msg in addition to the usual txt msg charge ( unless u have a txt plan)

Umm one thing I can never figure out: why not just call them? I can understand it if the recipient is in zimbabwe or vancouver and you're here but if they're located in toronto, just call and leave your own message.....
I text massage every day. I find it great as I would normally end up talking or working on another deal or problem if I call and talk. This way you relay the required info with no small talk, this works well if you really don't like the person as well. If in a meeting I can reply and send without disrupting others as well and with clients they cannot hear my conversation to others.
LOL that's funny (if you don't really like the person)....but I do understand about being in a meeting. It's been a few years since I worked in an office so I guess I'm out of touch.......I guess it helps to if you have a blackberry or ??? where you can actually type in the msg quickly but on a phone? You are right about sending msgs on the phone it is slower, I should get a blackberry they now have phones for text msg with full key boards like blackberries.
There is less and less social interaction all the time. With so many people working at home and email and now text msg, then in public with ipods and M3ps no ones talks anymore. I go to the gym and there is no one to talk to they all have head sets.
I'm thinkin of getting ear pieces just to hang on my shirt then when the stuid guy beside me starts talking I can put them in, no music but he will get the point.

In an extremely noisy SC, I find it easier to read text than to listen to voice, especially a voice mail message where you can't ask the speaker to speak louder. Or, is there a way to turn up the volume on a received voice mail?tboy said:
