i love text. I don't have to answer the phone. I can set up meetings or convey info to friends in 30 seconds as opposed to waiting for a phone call answer, go through the normal salutations and trivial conversation so you don't appear abrupt. Given a single choice, I'd prefer the text over voice.

Yes its very hard to get a well designed phone anymore. They are designed to fail and be replaced to maximize profit margin rather than serve the customer. There is talk about making a law demanding replaceable batteries which is a simple "repair" when removable - as well as extending is use for days if you have a few spare batteries charged.

And texting, since its free for phone companies or close to free - should be free on phones as well, as its inferior in everyway. The amount of band with comparted to voice is thousands of times smaller yet the price rahter than being thousnds of times smaller often is not. Its like the Dx math co-procesor chip all over again . . .

Depends on the call. Yes a live sex line call works better than using text but if I'm setting a meeting or sending information that does not need a reply - text is faster and more efficient.
