I think the Jays should resign Bo. Rogers can easily afford it. With that being said, some other good free agents might be available, if Bo is asking for way too much money.
Resign if he agrees to play second

he looked comfortable there even with an injury and never playing there before

need a whiz at short and we had one in the playoffs because Bo was out

no reason for Bo not to play second with a career-ending contract offer of half of what Vlad got and Bo is more than half the player

Vlad is better first baseman than Bo is shortstop
we saw that several times in playoffs

vlad hits more power but Bo gets more hits and Bo is better contact hitter

Vlad is overrated. He did very well in playoffs but that is not his history

his history is strikeouts and groundouts with peak period of power

Bo is much more consistent every year he leads MLB in hits unless injury but Bo is not injury prone

we need his bat and keeping long term players creates loyalty with fans as we associate with players and Bo is likeable

Pitching is our biggest concern by far that and Schneider swearing on TV

sign Trey to long term deal

sign another reliever and starter

we have learned having Bo is ideal but not essential

we saw in game 7 why we would like him behind Vlad

they walked vlad to get to Bo and Bo nailed one over center wall so Bo keeps pitchers honest

I stand corrected. For sure he would've gotten a better deal in free agency.
Not necessarily, remember when Edwin Encarnation's agent got greedy. Biebs reminds me of the Marlboro Man - remember him? As for Bo, he has to be careful, he may Kawhi Leonard his career.

What will the 2026 starting rotation look like?
To add to this… don't forget your Varland. I was kinda hoping Jeff Hoffman would be an option as well. This guy needs to get out of the bullpen.

Kawhi has done very well financially for very little production since leaving Toronto. I don't think Biebs is in the same situation as EE was. EE was just a DH. Biebes is an starting ace ptitcher. Yes he's coming off of TJ surgery but has looked good since coming back. He's betting on himself to prove he can get a Blake Snell type of contract but still worst case scenario he would've gotten a Chris Bassit type of contract on the open market.

I really hope the Blue Jays try to run as close to the same team out there for 2026. But they do need a legitimate fire baller closer.

Just like Joe Carter says in that interview I posted. This team is on the brink of a dynasty. I believe that.

I can only throw 70 mph, the pros can throw 90-100mph. Only the elite athletes can throw that fast. To me, 60mph is hittable. When it gets into the high 70s to 80s, I can't see the ball.
I don’t think most people can track the ball comfortably beyond high 70s
The mlb fastball gets to the plate in 0.6 sec and it’s tough to make a split second swing decision just by looking at the ball
Those elite hitters prepare based pitcher's release, spin, to predict its path and where contact will be made.
Vladdy and all good hitters looks they start his swing before the pitcher releases the ball

Here’s what’s it’s like to face Bauer

I didn't read the entire article but Vladdy wrote a letter to Front Office basically suggesting that keeping Bo would be a good idea, but he also understands he has to go "after the money".
I would love to finish my career playing with him,” Guerrero said according to MLB.com. “But it’s free agency, so he’s got to do his thing to go and do what he has to do, to get his money.”

Subtle way of telling the Jays, I want him on the team, pay him what he wants.

Expect your Rogers internet, cable TV, and cell phone bills to skyrocket. Well, Rogers did raise the prices on season tickets and 20-game packs. Hopefully, another WS run will keep Rogers shareholders happy.

Remember there is also TV revenue, ad revenue, merch revenue, both here and it appears an increased interest away as well. This is Canada's team. That is arguably the largest market in MLB.

None of the Dodgers were hitting the whole series the way they should've been. I don't believe the best team won. Going into the series I thought the Dodgers would be a lot tougher, especially with the bats.

I feel so bad for him because he had some great outings this post season, but it looks like the worst fear came true. Jeff Hoffman blows a save in the ninth. and he could not have picked a worse time to do it.

I hope they re-sign Bo Bichette, Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt. I hope they keep this group together as best as they can… I feel like this same group can do one more run like this. Maybe just add a real closer.

lots to feel good about for next year. Addison Barger and a healthy Santander could be pretty damn good.

Losing this series sucked because we caught the Dodgers batters in a lull (except for Ohtani). Hoffman giving up that bomb to Rojas was a crushing blow. However, I'm definitely optimistic for next season although I am tempering my expectations on Yesavage. We were lacking a go to HR guy all year, hopefully Santander can fill that role. I'd do what I can to re sign Bichette but I think a positional change to 2B is warranted. He's a below average fielding SS. And yes I'm in for re signing both Bassitt and Scherzer.

Jays are apparently interested in signing Framber Valdez.
He's a good starter, but IMO , big mistake if they land him, he's not a team player, he's a head case. He intentionally hit his catcher with a pitch after giving up a grand slam, He'll be a cancer in the clubhouse, break up the team chemistry.
