They jays get washed from good pitching and that's mostly what you see in the playoffs. The Sox ace carved them up in the last series against them. I think the jays go out quietly in the playoffs with vladdy hitting around. 200.
The B/O slumped through September with Kirk and Vladdy dormant and Bo out. Let's see what a few days rest brings. The Jays that faced the Rays swept that last series and beat Rays up badly in the series finale.

Thanks for the correction. I got the information from Jeff Blair on the Blair and Barker show. There was a delay between the time I heard it and the time I posted it, so I most likely messed it up. Later tonight I will go to the podcast and check it.
They are a very average team. Whether the stat is 100% correct or not, it does show that they lack any real star power.

Overall Arc
Reverend John enters with pastoral concern, but as Jack spirals into theological rage, John loses composure. The scene shifts from gentle counsel to spiritual warfare. Your challenge is to show this descent—not just in words, but in breath, posture, and tone.

🔥 Key Emotional Beats for Reverend John
  1. Opening Compassion “Thanks for finally seeing me…”
    • Tone: Gentle, pastoral.

    • Subtext: He’s trying to reach Jack as a shepherd would a lost sheep.
    • Physicality: Sit slowly, lean in slightly, hands open.
  • Spiritual Consolation “Jesus didn’t come to free us from pain…”
    • Tone: Reassuring, scriptural.
    • Subtext: He’s offering theology as balm.
    • Physicality: Nod, maybe touch the Bible or gesture upward.

  • Defensive Faith “No, He had nothing to do with this…”
    • Tone: Firmer, protective of God’s character.
    • Subtext: John is trying to preserve Jack’s faith—and his own.
    • Physicality: Sit straighter, voice tightens.

    • Urgency and Authority “Ask for the mercy of Jesus Christ…”
      • Tone: Commanding, almost pleading.
      • Subtext: He sees Jack slipping into spiritual danger.
      • Physicality: Lean forward, eyes lock.
    • Loss of Control “Stop this shit, or you’re going straight to hell!”
      • Tone: Explosive, desperate.
      • Subtext: John’s fear overrides his pastoral calm.
      • Physicality: Stand or slam hand on table—break the rhythm.

Final Plea “We’re going to pray for you, Jack.”

  • Tone: Exhausted, but resolute.
  • Subtext: Despite everything, he returns to grace.
  • Physicality: Close eyes, bow head, offer silence.

  • Reverend John isn’t just defending doctrine—he’s defending the soul of a man who reminds him of his own past. Perhaps he sees in Jack the same rage he once carried. That’s your emotional anchor.

  • The khakis would never let schnieder move him down, that's how it works when they might be made to look bad. This is why signing bo will be impossible. Bo is the straw that stirs the drink and he should have 500 mil in his jeans too. I'd have vladdy hitting 5th or 6th in clutch situations. I might even put lukes ahead of him, like that guy as a player.
Our defense is better without Bo. Very good planning by management to have quality players that are not stars to be able to play so well defensively at multiple positions.
  • So, Bo comes back but injury keeps him from playing defensively. So Bo is DH. That gets Santander out of lineup as Springer has to play outfield. All good. No? WTF is up playing Santander ?

If Bo does come back for round 3 (ALCS) and is the DH, I don't even thank Santander makes the playoff roster -- unless he hits well in Round 2. Jays would rather versatile defender if Santander can't start,

A number of people were clamouring to have Santander back in lineup when our team was in a back offensive slump. Seemingly had forgot how bad he was in a not so insignificant stretch of games.

But now that we have won 4 in a row, showed some offence, and Santander went 1-10 in those last 6 games, I think most people are back to not caring to see him play. Which is the right call.

My fear as well. Need Bo like crazy. Bo and Springer are the two guys you can trust against quality pitching. We will not be scoring a lot of runs and Vlad and esp Santander will be striking out a lot. Our best offense is defense and we got no starters that will get any votes for Cy young . And no superstar in pen . Berrios is out and he was number one at start of season. Schezer was brought here to pitch in playoffs with his experince but last few starts means he cannot be trusted so do we even take him with us in line-up?

In payoffs starter has short leash . So, need lots of relievers and we have decent long relievers but no superstar for the ninth inning shut down .

Getting through division round is biggest hurdle as Boston aND yANKEES are the two toughest opponents.

Best case is Boston win in 3 as Yanks are really hot. Schneider will have to win the playoffs with excellent managing

On the bright side is Trey. Pitching like a Cy Young candidate. Schnieider did something very smart. He did not give any potential playoff opponent a look at him So whoever we play will not of seen him. Looking at videos means nothing. Trey may be our saviour. So potentially we have two high-quality starters in Trey and GUasman. We still need Bo and someone in the pen to shut them down in the ninth.

Wth speed and small ball of bottom of line up this is a fun team to watch. If we do not score this could be another playoff debacle. No way are we considered as one of the favorites but we cannot be counted out

Does anyone know why Chris Bassitt changed his number to 21 on September 15 vs the Rays, then changed it back to 40 the next day? He didn't play in that game.

He's always worn #40, except for when he played for the White Sox in 2014, (#61), and every year on April 15, when all players wear #42 on Jackie Robinson Day.

If they get Bichette back their lineup really is tough. Game 1 lineup if I wrote the linep card

Springer
Barger
Vladdy
Bichette
Kirk
Varsho
Lukes
Schneider?
Giminez

Gausman
Pretty much my lineup as well if Bichette doesn't field and he probably shouldn't until 100%....not his stength. No one really talks about it but I wonder if Clement is a better defender than Giminez at short. I haven't looked at stats. I was comfortable with Ernie playing short.

My guess is it was Roberto Clemete day.

i like Bo and Kirk following Vlad. Vlad stopped hitting when Bo got injured. Our strength is a bench that has flexibility for defense pinch hitting and running. Bo in as DH gets Santander out of the lineup so we go from one of the games worse hitters - at this point Santander is - to one of the games best as Bo gets more hits than anyone in the game . Think of that improvement.

Other clubs like the Yanks and Dodgers have better top order but ours has better bottom. That bottom is why we score so many runs but they get shut down with top starters. Not playing WC was a blessing as that would have meant not facing the number 4 or 5 pitcher, games we must win

Think of how good that lineup is if Santander were hitting 40 homers

Yankees spent $360 million on Judge and $325 million on Stanton for a total of almost $700 million, and look where it's gotten them so far

The MLB announced Wednesday that if the Yankees advance to the ALDS, the first pitch in Game 1 will be thrown at 4:08 p.m.
If the Red Sox win, the first pitch will be thrown at 1:08 p.m.

The Cincinnati Reds are the first team in MLB history to make the playoffs in a non-shortened season without any qualifying player:
----hitting .270.
---hitting 15 home runs.
---winning 15 games as a pitcher.
---striking out 200 batters as a pitcher.
That makes the Mets not getting in the playoffs even a bigger joke.

I thought I wanted the Yankees instead of the Red Sox, but after watching that rookie performance yesterday with the Yankees where he goes eight strong, throwing 101 miles an hour… I'm not so sure the Yankees are the best choice anymore.

Well, we have Yesavage, can you imagine if Trey and Shittler got matched up in this series?
