Spoiler alert.

The Season Finale was on Sunday and they introduced a new character, after 10 seconds I knew who she was. The finale centered around the premiere of Deep Throat, so why didn't they call the new character by who she is: Marylin Chambers? Maybe Ivory Snow doesn't want to be associated with this series.

Linda Lovelace was the star of Deep Throat not Marilyn Chambers but I assume you're talking about the housewife bookstore owner character

They're being ambiguous about naming names. The limelight for the premiere only showed Deep Thro...since neither Linda Lovelace nor Marylin Chambers are around to give consent. Maggie Gylenhaal's character is also ambiguous, I'm assuming she's playing Giorgina Spelvin.

If the show is going by year, then more than likely Rudy Pipilo will not survive S2. The simmering Gallo-Profaci War turned into an all out street battle in 1972. Gentlemen of Leisure came out in that year, I'm assuming that story will focus on Larry Brown. And I'm assuming Constable Chris Alston will be the series Frank Serpico. Looking forward to S2.

Sidney Lumet made both Serpico and Prince of the City (Ciello), both excellent films.

The repeat of the Finale is on HBO and on TMN VOD....old man Profaci, he knew how to split his enemies.

I can't even wear his shoes - meaning, he's a loser.

I like how this show is progressing and I'm not surprised, as it's much like the Wire. The character build up and story line is only getting better and mirrors the Wire in many ways too, so next season should be even better, ass they have set the tone for more story line with strong characters, both lead and secondary.

The next season is meant to advance the story by a number of years to the late 70's. Some of the characters will remain but I suspect many will not.

In regards to the Deep Throat premiere that was absolutely meant to be Linda Lovelace without explicitly mentioning it as she was wearing the same hat as she as been famously photographed.

I think the show is trying to fictionalize the main characters albeit they are based on amalgamations of actual people. At the same time they will still refer to real life events/people. Vinyl and Boardwalk Empire were similar in that regard.

It's all about setting trends, currently the hottest actor in Hollywood did it, so everyone else follows along.

I think it's fascinating, talk about having the power.

Great film and excellent scene!

I didn't know about this show (don't really watch much television) until I was up North with family last weekend and watched some episodes with my brother and his girlfriend.

It doesn't sound like you've actually watched the show. If it fails it certainly won't be because it water downs the sleaziness or falls short of capturing the era. If anything many will find the subject matter and grittiness off-putting and it may not capture enough of an audience as a result.

I really like how it gets the point across without explicit scenes of violence. We don't need to see Reggie Love beat his girl to know what happened. Gritty but not desensitizing.

Give it a shot.

Good to know what to look forward to.

With the moral morass that Hollywood is currently in, the financiers are looking to Hardy and his gumba Leonardo Di Caprio to lead the way. It's not a coincidence that Fargo and The Deuce followed the lead of Legend. Christopher Nolan played up to it by giving Hardy a matinee idol moment at the end of Dunkirk. David Thewlis played the Kray Bros's consiglieri in Legend and voila he shows up on Fargo - bad teeth and all.

I didn't think Legend was that good a film, Emily Browning was woefully miscast as Reginald Kray's mole Frances Shae. Too submissive, an actress with a sharper bite would have made the film better. And the ending came out of left field.

That scene with Junior Soprano I like to call "the Junior Soprano School of Management". It was absolutely brilliant on so many levels.

Junior just looked at the whole thing and made his decision quickly and easily simply based on pure unadulterated pragmatism - "what is better for me". Purely objective thinking. I love it.

Even though Junior couldn't stand Tony (at that point in time in the show especially, and for that matter, he was always conflicted about Tony) he chose to stick with Tony because he knew that his life under Tony would be better than it would be under Richie. Simple as that. No agonizing, no rolling it around in his head with emotion governing the process. Just a simple "I'm better off with Tony". End of story.

Richie showing up with that moron Jackie Junior (who just made one dumb decision after another, who was constantly bringing up his father as if that should somehow score him some sort of respect or latitude with the old boys) demonstrated to Junior that Richie was not anywhere near Tony's level.

A Soprano film is in the works called The Many Saints of Newark, David Chase wrote the script and Andrew Taylor (Game of Thrones) will direct. So far Alex Nivola has been cast as Dicky Multisanti and Paul Dano as Corrado "Junior" Soprano. No word yet on who's playing Johnny Boy Soprano (Tony's father). Dano currently is in Escape from Dannemorra with Benicio Del Toro, haven't watched it.

Daniel Day Lewis is one of Dano's biggest fans:

Michael Gandolfini is a 21 Century child. he doesn't turn 20 until 2000.

He plays Chris Dwyer's deceptively clueless son Joey in The Deuce. Before that he had a role in Oceans Eight. Now David Chase has selected him to play the young Tony Soprano in the upcoming The Many Saints of Newark. He knows what this means. James Gandolfini was bi polar and playing Tony Soprano took a heavy toll on him. He could no longer control his food binges, Michael was with him on that fateful trip to Rome.

He looks more like his father with each passing day!

Just finished the series finale yesterday.

And I must say this awesome show hit the nail right on the head.

Definitely right now on my all time favourites list and the ending doesn't disappoint.

Just wish it didn't have to end. But I guess it just had to walk into the arms of time.

They could have extended The Deuce for two more seasons. With Succession, Westworld and now Watchmen, there's only so much mullah to go around. The Deuce was the odd man out.

I enjoyed this series, it was a slow burn like The Wire and will also appreciate over time. Rudy Pipilo's demise was telegraphed, he sacrificed himself over the shooting of a son of a made member. E 7 was heartbreaking, I wanted a better outcome for Lori Madison - it shocked me. Candy's relationship with financier Henry Jaffe played out as expected, he had a limit that she crossed. Cant wait to see Corey Stoll (Jaffe) as young Junior Soprano.

Excellent series, I wanted more.

Not all the actors on The Deuce are professional, Jamie Neumann (Ashley) was initially hired as a consultant. She's a jazz club owner/musician in New Orleans. She looked smokin hot in the Finale roll call.

The Sopranos prequel will be released on September 25 2020. Tony Lip's (Carmine Lupertazzi) back story in Green Book, got it green lit.
