An interesting read, although it contained no real surprises, I don't think. But it was interesting to see our assumptions supported by research. Not that they need the money, but these guys will make a fortune off this latest book. Thanks for posting it.

I wonder how many of the ladies we know and love so much in this industry, think they are of the same calibre as Allie from the article, not realizing that she represents a miniscule percentage of working women? Probably close to all of them think they're that good. But the reason for Allie's success was that she treated every client like a king; certainly she wouldn't have restrictions on kissing, on DATY, or refuse certain positions, or gripe about her personal problems during a session, or show up stoned, or come on TERB and reveal her bitchy side and not-so-deeply-hidden hatred of men, etc. Be perfect for an hour or two, and your business will build. Its a good lesson for lots of the ladies, assuming they have the other assets to work at Allie's level (not just physical assets, either).

Interesting read.

I'm all for an SP getting what she feels she's worth. Like any market, it's what the market realistically dictates her worth, what her worth is in the marketplace and competition.

What I found interesting is that "Allie" is characterized as a "high price" alternative ...and a number of TERB posters have fallen for the description. At $300 for the hour she's really just a mid-range provider from a price perspective. I would be interested to read about a truly high-price provider and how she manages to earn repeat business at the high rate.

Given that it took 26 paragraphs to get to the pertinent part of the article, originally I thought you were being ironic. However, one you get there a good read, although I agree with previous posters there is nothing shocking.

what's this got to do with ASD? I didn't finish reading, as I still have a pink eye, please summarize it for me.
Haha, no. =)

ASD is when a girl is attracted to you but feels if she gives in she's a slut. I'm sure that mentality acts as a barrier to girls considering prostitution.

So high end prostitutes have some ASD while street hookers have no ASD?

High end prostitutes get away with charging what they want because they come from affluent or middle class backgrounds. As a result, they have access to develop good hygiene, education, etiquette, etc to justify such a price tab for the final product.

Here is something that our $2,000 a day escorts will never experience. My neighbour and I hosted a yard sale this weekend. You wouldn't believe how buyers tried to nickel and dime us (some of them drove up in Mercedes). They kept using the "recession" as an excuse to low ball us at every turn. BTW My neighbour and I live in a neighbourhood full of medical people and teachers. People with 100% high income job security and rich pensions in the public sector.

Yup, these folks probably all make over $100K a year with full job security and a rich pension and they haggle over paying $10 for a nice leather briefcase. Thank goodness, our $5,000 a day escorts will never have to hold a yard sale.

What a bunch of B.S.!

The author had no clue. If his logic was right, there would be no point to open a fast food burger join, one one should try to sell $100 steak.

At least he figured out how to scam money from "thinking tanks".
