The Greatest Canadian.. A Review

OK with Don C. still hanging in in 5th place, this contest is becoming a bit of a joke.
I know Annessa is going to yell at me again, but I think we need to put these contestants in perspective.

#1 Tommy Douglas. He's from Saskatewan for Christs sake! If it wasn't for Corner Gas, everybody would have forgotten its part of Canada anyways.

#2 Terry Fox. Good runner but Forest Gump ran further.

#3 Sir Fredrick Banting. So he invented one little medicine. Heck I can whip up a few cocktails that will elimiate all that ails you, including your inhibitions.

#4 Pierre Elliott Trudeau Wasn't he the guy that was married to Mick Jagger's old GF?

#5 Don Cherry. This isn't 'The Worst Dressed Canandian'

#6 Lester B. Pearson How can a bad airport win??

#7 David Suzuki 40 years of trying to teach us how to save the planet. First we need to learn how to spell.

#8 Sir John A. MacDonald This isn't a drinking contest is it?

#9 Wayne Gretzky If this is about scoring alot & MSOG, perhaps we could find a few more nominees.

#10 Alexander Graham Bell So the guy ties a string between two cans & talks to his buddy in the next room. That's why Don Cherry is beating him. DON JUST TALKS LOUDER!

I do not believe what I heard from Don Maclean on "The Greatest Canadian". Don Maclean should stick to sport programming, his reason for support of Don Cheery is because all the others are great Canadian and difficult to support one or the other. The best is give the support to Don Cherry. What kind idiotical reasoning, may be too many puck hit his head.

When Lee brought out a zip lock bag with an original Terry Fox (Marathon Of Hope) T-shirt from 25 years ago, that was given to her from a man that played Basketball with Terry Fox in high-school and later became a volunteer on Terry's run and this shirt has been hanging on his wall for 25 years for daily inspiration everyday I began to weep. What a beautiful and magical moment that I will remember & cherish forever.

Well what a wierd set of results. Only in Canada I guess.
I can't believe Don Cherry beat out Bell and Mac and even the 'Great One'!!
Those must be people voting with a sense of humour.
I just hope Grapes doesn't laugh himself in to a heart attack.
We want to see this great Canadian back where he belongs in our living rooms once Hockey gets on the go again ------- Some day.

A great Canadian won no doubt, but I think the advocates can take a fair bit of the accolades for the success of their Canadian (or lack there of Ms. Grey).

What was the silliest part of the whole thing was the production of the Live Final show and how they cut off George in the middle his acceptance speach and never even presented Terry Fox, the popular choice with the audience, with number 2. CBC managed to screw up a showcase event yet again.
