Ok...WTF was that???!!!!

Did the other Cylons (3&5&8's) reach Earth first, and destroy it?

Or did the inhabitants of Earth destroy themselves before the Colonials got there?

Exactly what I was thinking....

And what time on Earth is it?

2008?

1008?

1000 BC?

That was another great episode.

I think however, that that was the 10'th episode and now we have to wait till 2009 for it to pick up again.

Frack.

You are correct. That is the 10th episode. Nothing more till January 09.

Damn that Ron Moore!!! Who does he think he is? David Chase?

Too many buildings for 1008.

They just have to slingshot around the sun to get the right time. ;)

I was kind of expecting something like that. It is the only way they could explain the sudden appearance of a bunch of humans and skin jobs. If they did it in ancient times, they'd have to explain why there are no records of their appearance, if they did it in the future, it'd entail too much integration. Although I was thinking that their appearance could have influenced all the "mysterious" marks in the ground and odd cave drawings of visitors from the stars.....

With the geiger counter scene it indicates that the 13th tribe blew themselves up....OOPS......

Ron Moore and Michael Taylor have to go through more registered scripts without original authors knowing at The Writer's Guild of America West to steal more ideas, I think.

If it's earth, and I'm not convinced it is, then it has to be either the 3's, 5's, and 8's that blew it up, orelse it's set in the future and we did it ourselves.

Or, very very long ago in the past and Earth gets reconlized.

Actually, that's pretty good (about the other versions getting there first)....would make for a dynamic "battle" ending....but the thing is the others didn't know the location so it would be hard to explain how they found it.....

But a few questions remain unanswered (and it'll take 84 episodes to explain lol):

WTF was the opera house all about?
If that is earth, what significance is the 5th unknown version for?

Here's another idea: there's yet another species going around toasting planets and the cylons and humans have to work together to defeat them. You know, like in the movie Independance Day?

It couldn't be a recent thing or there would have been too much radiation for them to be standing there with protective suits.

There was some residual radiation as it was registering on the Geiger counter so maybe 50 years or something? There wasn't any satellites or space garbage so it seems kind of strange that it would be earth (but the writers are not perfect) The world also seemed to be a lot of water but they purposely clouded it so you couldn't see the land masses (could be some future earth after global warming.)

There are still a lot of story lines to go over. I am sure this isn't the final destination. Maybe the final "one" with come forth and lead them to somewhere else.

My biggest question in this episode would be why the final "4" pick up a colonial emergency signal?

The shot of the Earth was not difinative. You could not identify the land masses.

It was blue, with some clouds and that's about it.

Yes. On the BSG boards there is a lot of talk about the lord of light from the original series but really there isn't enough info to speculate until 2009. The only thing for sure is there is only 10 episodes left in this production run.

They done all the geographic work to "find" earth. All the visions and spiritual stuff "crossing over" seems like the next step in the journey.

My best guess is that the destroyed Bridge and ruins across the water is New York at some point in the future.

You'd figure that if they came half way across the galaxy they would at least try and find a nice warm place near the ocean.. But no... New Caprica, The Algae Planet and now this..

Hmmm I hate to be picky but NYC IS close to the ocean, or are you referring to something like Hawaii or costa rica? Somewhere tropical?

Funny though, you see the planet from space and it is all white green and blue and get down to ground level and it is all grey and dingy......

If this is NYC, it doesn't necessarily mean that the entire planet has been nuked.

Also....don't they have some sort of "sensors" that could detect radiation from orbit? Or they could have sent a drone, or a Raptor to do a survey for a suitable landing spot?

It seems they (Adama and the Prez) just lost their minds and common sense when they ordered the whole fleet to land. I could see the entire fleet making the jump to Earth orbit together....this was just really bad writing that made no logical, character/plot driven sense. What's next...Adama fulfills his life long ambition to be a ballet dancer?
