The unwashed masses see the optics and scream terrible but the knee to neck restraint is a time tested method with few deaths/injuries used by police/military in many countries around the world to subdue unruly suspects/criminals/enemies. Chauvin was simply doing what he was trained to do.
Yes, we agree.
Police are trained to not care if they injure or kill people.
You can do knee on someone safely.
You can also do it unsafely.
The question is whether or not you care which you are doing and when it is proper to escalate to that technique at all.

Hopefully spaced out the stabbings for the same time this guy kept the knee on Mr. Floyd.

Floyd had his own share of problems, but did not deserve the end fate this guy applied to him

Took longer then I thought honestly.
Me too… i remember reading an interview by one of his police trainer saying he would have a difficult time in jail because he is such a moron. The trainer said he was sure at some point chauvin will brag about what he did and it won’t go well…

Now it doesn't give a direct view of Chauvin kneeling on his neck but when I watch this full video it's pretty clear to see that the panic that set into Floyd when he was placed under arrest could have been the main trigger of his cardiac arrest. He repeated numerous times that he couldn't breathe, even before he was subdued on the ground. I know that the defense argued that it was Floyd's underlying medical condition combined with a lethal dose of fentanyl and methamphetamine that primarily caused his death but did they even broach the idea of panic/delirium/shock as being a contributing factor?

I don't think its beyond reasonable doubt that Chauvin kneeling on the side of Floyd's neck caused his death. Therefore, I think he should have been charged and convicted with criminal negligence causing death, not 3rd degree murder/manslaughter.

Maybe it was just the nine minutes of kneeling on his neck that did it. Anyway. He should have got first degree murder. I hear Trump wants to pardon him so he should be out soon.

Why have a jury and lawyers, forensic experts and a judge when a smart guy like you can figure it out in a couple minutes, ehh?

And it's my understanding that crim neg causing death = homicide in the 3rd in MN btw.

I can't even watch a few minutes of that inhumanity. I've been to accident scenes with fathers sons, daughters wives and babies dismembered and pulverized to hamburger, some were friends. I've watched several people die in gruesome, prologed accidents... and this Chauvin inhumanity and ignorant, cowardly PIG culture sickens me.

And as much as I hate to admit this side of me, I would hope Chauvin gets his neck kneeled on to unconciousnessness every few days in pridon. Just near enough to cause near death panic... but never death. Maybe the audio recording playing might be a nice touch?

1st degree murder is premeditated that is clearly not what happened here. You're disqualified from this conversation.

I'm not taking away the fact that Chauvin was in the wrong. When Floyd stopped moving and he continued to kneel on his neck that was barbaric. And not just Chauvin, all those cops are at fault for not attempting to save Floyd's life once he was motionless. Why they just didn't sit him on the curb until paramedics arrived is still puzzling to me. If 3rd degree murder is criminal negligence causing death then it is the appropriate charge. Unintentional 2nd degree murder and manslaughter are not.

Same thing occurred to me before the self-appointed moderator sanctioned me. Kneeling on somebody's neck for 9 minutes without showing any intent of stopping is sort of premeditated. Anyway. I think if the punishment should fit the crime, Chauvin should get some neck kneeling a few times a week. Just as a reminder.

Flyod was not chauvin's first kill, chauvin has many complaints against him for police brutality.
