Did they release Pete Townsend from prison for having child porn? I heard the WHO is touring again.

He got off because he was doing the searching for research into his own child abuse that he suffered.

In Toronto at the end of the year at ACC.

I don't think he ever went to prison. Eventually his story of doing research was believed. And I do believe him myself as well. Pete Townsend is no Gary Glitter.

But I can not believe that they are touring again as 'The Who'. I mean I went to their farewell tour and that was probably 25 yrs ago. There is only two of them left for God's sake. I did hear a while back that they were to reproduce the "Who:Live At Leeds" show. That might be cool to see but I do not think that this is what they are doing on tour.

They were a real kick ass band in their day and "Quadrophenia" is still one of my favorites. I guess old rockers keep going til the end.

I was in Vegas in 2002 and had tickets to their concert at the Hard Rock Hotel but John Entwistle screwed it up by dying. I'll never forgive him.

BTW, it's Townshend.

I doubt they'd be worth seeing.... John and Keith are dead. Roger probably can't hit some of those notes like he used to...... doubt he can do Won't Get Fooled Again. Pete can probably still do his thing so really you'd be paying $100 to see 1/4 of the Who.

I saw The Who about 12yrs ago or so in Toronto. I wanted to hear the loud guitar and all that but they just played it acoustically. I wouldn't pay to see them these days, but do they play with electric guitar now?
I saw Roger Entwistle at Woodstock 99. He was pretty good.

Saw the Who during their 2nd or 3rd "Farewell Tour", about 16 yrs ago. They were weak then.... only did half of "Won't get fooled again", apparently Roger had early onset alzheimers and skipped a couple of verses...was funny seeing John and Pete trying to adjust on the fly....
Everything seen on tv since then shows they are not what they used to be....like the Stones, maybe it's time......?
