It's almost as if Iran wants Israel or the US to attack them. You have to wonder what kind of strategy that is all about.

The same strategy that Saddam used.

Perhaps because he was no religious fanatic, I think Saddam both had a studied respect for US military power, and pretty plainly went out of his way not to provoke it, at least within the limits of his sinister, grandiose vision of his role as a latter-day Nasser or Saladdin. In fact, as the absence of WMD shows, he would sacrifice the latter for the former, when push came to shove. Unfortunately for him, he reckoned without the imperialists redux of the Bush admin.

So this asswhipe calls for the destruction of Israel, calls for Israel to move to Europe and then denies the Holocaust (wonder, if that's the case, what the reason for moving Israel to Europe would be).

He's begging to be taken out by Israel.... really stupid.

Disregarding the original hateful circumstances of the story, in hindsight now after almost 60 years of trouble, was it really the best decision to give them the chosen location? I admittedly am not up on my religious history (and may even believe that religion is a contributor to all conflicts unfortunately), but could somewhere else have sufficed? If it were to be done again would the same path be chosen?
Just wondering.

I'd suggest Long Island but hey, I think it's pretty well decided. Why the farking Germans are not paying for all this I'll never understand.

It is often a topic of debate if the US is doing enough to push peace in the Middle East....

Iran knows that US does not have the military and political will to attack it.

The mess that Bush has created in Iraq has enabled to mullahs to act more radical. Iraq is now the best ally for Iran.

Job well done moron.

OTB the discussion of US influence in the middle east is not the equivalent of holding them to account.

Sorry OTB. Who has the ultimate power with Shias?

Sistani is an Iranian. US has abided with his every demand. Most of the current Shia leaders were in Iran during Saddam era.

Ah, sorry, my point was (thus why I quoted this section of your post) that while we lack the political will to invade, we don't lack the military capability.

having grown up in my younger years in the Middle East I am ashamed to say that this kind of crap is standard fare in the education and political discussion process, instead of focusing on why would a people who suffered so much in turn cause the suffering of the Palestinians, they come out with things like oh there is no way that 6 million could have been murdered,

then a sane person would try to argue the number doesnt matter one is too many, and there was a systematic effort by the Nazis to wipe out Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals and disabled people and enslave the Slavic peoples but when you are up against maps that still show Palestine pre 1948 and frequently refering to it as the Zionist entity, its a tough battle, of course the Israelis arent helping their image either by the continuing occupation and mistreatment of Palestinians.
