Yes. Not only would I not kick this ass out of bed for eating crackers, I also wouldn't kick the girl out if she was eating crackers as well.

I believe that was answered before with the line " cause he didn't trust the English in the dark", the other reason being that since you can't drink until the sun is over the yardarm the beauty of a worldwide Empire was that the sun was always over the yardarm somewhere.
