My heavily bearded bikerish dad has decided to lose his beard. Now this is not just any beard but well yes ZZ Top is all I can think of.
After the initial shave at the barbers this Monday, he has expressed concern that he does not want to shave with anything but an electrical razor.

I AM LOST IN THE WOODS HERE.

I went ALL over the internet but really don't know what is good what really sucks some have screens only, some 3 heads that rotate......... I am SOOOOOOO confused
Please help lol

Budget is not So much an issue as I prefer to buy things people like and will use. so men or ladies that have already done this gift I BEG OF YOU PLEASE HELP lol
this is the LAST gift on my list

Personally I am a Norelco user.

Buy the best, as they last several years.

I think Fred Flintstone got a close shave when he used a sea shell filled with bees.

I've tried them all. The screen type are very comfortable, but they don't shave as close. You...I mean your dad will need to shave again in the evening if he wants to look and feel nice.

I have a rotary Philishave right now, and one morning shave is good for the day, but it is a harsher cut, sometimes leaving red abrasions on my neck. Especially if I haven't shaved for a few days. Its something your skin needs to get acustommed to.

This is from the Consumer Reports web site:

Best among men's rotary shavers were the Norelco Reflex Action 5861XL and Quadra Action 6885XL. Both worked well overall and can shave with or without a cord. Although both models have been discontinued, the similar Reflex Action 5822XL, $80, and Quadra Action 7885XL, $110, should perform comparably.

Among men's foil models, the Braun Flex Integral 6520 performed nearly as well as the Syncro System 7570, costs less, and is easier to grip. Both have been discontinued, but the similar Syncro System 7680, $200, and Flex Integral 5441, $115, should perform comparably.

Among women's shavers, the Remington Smooth & Silky Plus WDF-5000, $55, shaved slightly closer than the others. But even this model was mediocre overall.

P.S. STRONGLY suggest cordless model!

just get some really strong aftershave, if your dad has not shaved in a long time you will definitely need it.
