Moore wasn't given a penalty on the open-ice check against Naslund. He later apologized in the media. When it happened May kicked the crap out of him. Should have been enough. Though May talked about more retribution the teams played to a 5-5 tie without incident last Wednesday.
Last night the game started with Moore dropping the gloves with Matt Cooke in the first. Again, should have been enough. Moore had already answered the bell.
Bertuzzi was brutal in going after Moore. He had a clear, premeditated intent to injure.

GlavaMan - I dont have a big problem with what Todd did for the simple fact that it sent the message, if you take a shot at our best player we'll mess you up. Now if Moore hadnt injured Naslund then it would be totally different, but given the circumstances, I wouldnt crucify him over it like everyone else seems to be doing.
The guys on TSN are totally whacked, comparing this to the McSorley/Brashear incident. Kathleen
Kathleen, what have you been smoking ???. You're dead wrong ! The incident was similar if not worse than the Brashear-McSorley incident - the predatory way Bertuzzi went after Moore, sucker punching him from behind, knocking him to the ice unconscious, face first no less ! and then falling on him with an elbow to the back of the head. Bertuzzi's gone, for a long time, no doubt aboot it !
