Hey I know this can be a mostly Toronto sports forum, however ....

Being a follower of most Boston Sports teams, I enjoyed this poll from the Boston Globe. It lists several of the greatest individuals sports seasons in Boston. It also gives you a chance to vote for your top choice.

My choice was Yaz in 1967. Never been a baseball triple crown winner since. Me vote for a Red Sox player - who'd ever believe that. :p

Come on ..... The season isn't even over ... In a city who may have had the greatest hockey player of all time " Bobby Orr " its to early to even have this topic ...

Oh yea and if Garnett can bring the Celtics a Championship then he even tops Brady ...
Orr didn't even make the list. Suprising that a defenseman, arguably the greatest player ever, who won 2 scoring championships on one leg never got a mention.

Boston has a very real chance of winning 3 out of the big 4 sports championships. Obviously baseball is already in the bag. The Pats are a lock for the Super Bowl (barring any catastrophic injuries). Celts look great and should at least make the championship round against Spurs or Suns.

Not sure about that. Don't forget all the great players of old Celtics teams during their championship seasons. Russell, Havlicek, Bird, Cousy.

Greatest season in Boston sports?

How many times did Gretzky visit Boston the year he set the points record? That should qualify.:D

Actually, Gretzky found the Boston Garden to be one of the tougher rinks to play in. Steve Kasper usually did a good job of shadowing him.

Too bad Boston College collapsed ..

at one point in time this fall they were Number 2 in the BCS College Football Ranking Poll. They could have been another city of Boston winner....That reminds me what about Doug Flutie who won the Heisman in 1984....

Yes 3-4 isn't bad. The Bruins won't be winning cups anytime soon. OMG they have become the most boring hockey team to watch, I can't stand it.

I wasn't old enough to appreciate Orr in his prime but can't say enough about Bird and Pedro in their best year(s). Boston fans have been pretty lucky to be able to watch such great performances over the years.
