The only funny thing about this is Bush knows this has happened but during his campaign today he didn't mention a thing about the 380 tons of explosives that have gone missing. Then again why would he... it would show even more incompetence in his War On Iraq. I hope someone puts this man out of his misery, hopefully he will have the guts to do it himself.

I can't speculate any further on her views, beliefs or level of frustration.

On another note tho, I'm looking to buy a pair of gators. Can you suggest how I may keep 'em shiny? :)

Regarding the stolen weapons, I agree. What is not justified is advocating the assassination of the President of the United States. If she said this in the US, she would have an "elevated level of concern" that the FBI and Secret Service would be paying her a visit.
I was and still am very angry because if you all read the article then you would have not missed the part where it says;

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said President Bush wants to determine what went wrong.
So Bush does know that this has happened but he is not addressing this issue to the public and why would he? it could or would make or break the election.

The comment of putting this man out of his misery was harsh, and I know that, for me personally being a humanitarian I go with my initial first feelings and reaction and those first feelings were of rage that the president is more into winning this election then dealing with all the problems that have occurred over the last few months in Iraq because of him. Yes my comment was stupid, I don't believe in murder by any means but I do believe that this man is beyond denial.

His non-reaction to the 380 tons of explosives going missing is the same reaction we witnessed on Fahrenheit 911 when he was sitting in a classroom when he was told about the first world trade center attack and then told about the second world trade center attack and yet he still sat there in that classroom for 30 minutes. What impression does that leave you with? With me it leaves the impression that he didn't see it as a big concern because I would like to think any American president would have excused himself immediately.

Fair enough, I'd like to hear some good news. Evidently, you think you have better information as to what is going on in Iraq. Let's hear it. And no, I'm not talking about plans or proposals, but what the Iraqis are enduring day to day.

I am not the one(s) posting the bad news.

But face it rants like this thread are getting very tiresome. What happens in 8 days and the US elections are closed?

Always two sides to a story, especially when the NYTimes is involved. From CNN:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/10/26/iraq.explosives/index.html

In a letter to the IAEA dated October 10, Iraq's director of planning, Mohammed Abbas, said the material disappeared sometime after Saddam's regime fell in April 2003, which he attributed to "the theft and looting of the governmental installations due to lack of security."

Baghdad fell on April 9, 2003. According to NBC, troops from the 101st Airborne arrived the next day to find that the material was already gone.

Prior to the Iraq war, the high-grade explosives at Al Qaqaa had been under the control of IAEA inspectors because the material could be used as a component in a nuclear weapon, IAEA spokeswoman Melissa Fleming said. IAEA and other U.N. inspectors left the country in March 2003 before the fighting began on March 19.

Story smells

Usually three sides to a story. Thier side... your side.....and the truth.

380 Tonnes of expolsives. Say 50 to 60 tonnes an a 18 wheeler semi truck. That would be about 7 to 8 trucks fully loaded.

hummm should be easy to do in a coalation occupied country with jets flying overhead shooting anything that moves...

I think the truth will be stranger than this story.

..you crack me up you really do, so the entire press is in some sort of huge conspiracy to keep us from all the "good news". in Iraq. You simply have very little touch with reality.
