Justin Timberlake.
His last few girlfriends have included Brittany Spears, Janet Jackson and his current flame Cameron Diaz. And the guys who threw water bottles at him are dating???????????
They should be bowing at his feet. Also, Justin was invited by Mick for the show. Pretty good circle of friends I must say.
Good point. Does anyone else find it funny that the guys on here that are calling him such names as "Justin Timberfag"are the same guys who jerk off to pics of girls that Justin's fucked on a regular basis.

i am still annoyed that only 70 cents of each ticket is going to charity - thats like only $300,000, which is peanuts! - though there will be some extra money from merchandising and profits...

still - $21 was way too cheap for the tickets - if they had charged $25 or $30, 99% of the people would still have gone, and the money to charity would have been in the millions!
I agree with mr. x's comment ... all the hassle and only $300,000 was raised? C'mon ...

And event of this stature should at least raise over 1 mil.

And who knows if the folks will really stay in Toronto and spend money ... who knows if one event can change our city's image as a safe and SARS free place ...

Saw part of his post show interview on CTV news. In front of the camera, he handled the bottle throwing ordeal quite well, just like a pro and with grace. I don't realy dig his craft as a singer, but he did gain my respect.

Did he do a number with Mick on stage or he just winged a Stones tune in his set?
He actually did do a number with Mick.
I saw that interview and he handled himself with such class, maturity and grace. Even tough he had the right to be upset and angry. They showed the clips of Justin ducking the water bottles on USA news stations. How embarrasing.
I think Justin got the last laugh in the end. No one would dare throw a bottle or boo him when Mick, brought him on stage. Micks attitude was.....' this is my friend and you better show him respect or else'.

The only reason for the booing and bottle throwing is......
JEALOUSY.
This guy is very young, very cute, very rich, very successful, very talented and very famous, and has dated some of the most beautiful and famous women in the world. And those young, poor, immature, rude, low class, ugly, unsuccessful, punks could never in a million years compete with him. Pure Haters!

The idea was never geared towards making moeny for charity. It was designed to improve T.O.'s image and give tourism a boost.

Actually I was quite embarassed to see poor Justin get pelted like that. We Canadians like to think we are so hospitable, tolerant of others and just nice to a fault (as all those Canadian jokes go) and rip Americans for being rude and yet we rail on some dude because we don't like his music.

I can care less for Timberlake's music. But he was here to support Toronto. I ended up clapping at the end because he had guts to stay on for his full time. How many times has Axl Rose walked off stage because some threw one water bottle? And he was walking away from a performance that his fans payed $50 or so to see. Justin got assulted with 100's of bottle and stuck it out. He earned my respect.

The funny thing is there was some dope with a 'Justin Timberfag' sign. Justin probably has the opportunity to nail more hot chicks in day if he wanted to than that dope in his lifetime.

However, how many hotties the guy has reportedly been with has absolutley nothing to do with his music or performance. Getting a bit off track there Will E. Wanker!

Waver,
I am not a fan of his music but my point was that Timberlake probably had the last laugh. Besides, the guy was doing his friend and the city of Toronto a favor.

Yeah, O-K. Calling the guy "Timber-fag" really reflects on his musical talents too. I'm npot crazy about his music either, but couldn't see myself pelting him with water bottles.

Throwing bottles at Timberlake was a classless. You let the old mullets out of the house and look what happens.

Someone DID throw a bottle at JT during "miss you" and Keith stopped playing and reamed out whoever did it.

The guy was there to help, and deserved better.

I find myself loathing timberlake/nsync/backstreetboys/clone types but throwing bottles etc was rude.

we're better than that
theoretically.

Wasn't it supposed to be boost over the long term anyways? I thought it was supposed to improve our image in the world so more international tourists book trips here not a quick fix.

You are right, fernie.
It's not meant to be a quick fix. Let's hope things will pick up for Toronto's tourist industry in the near future.
