As Toronto digs itself out of the city’s first major storm of winter, the city could see more than 15 centimetres of snow this week as another winter storm whips through southern Ontario Wednesday evening into Thursday, Environment Canada said in a special weather statement. In a snowfall warning issued for the city, the weather agency said up to four centimetres could come down each hour.

I hope they get the bike lanes plowed ASAP. Otherwise the entire city will come to a standstill.

Fuck yeah, they better get those done! Those cyclists keep clogging up the bike lanes, showing the rest of us how superior they are, while I spew fumes with my V8...

I think Pearson recorded 21 cm of snow as of 06:00. These are the days I wish I had a snowblower.

Totally not the end of the world. Used the snowblower for most of it but it shoots some of the snow on the road or side walk when I get to the edges, so I then use the shovel to clear what my snowblower put there. Which is easy because by then it is light and easy to push.

I know some people would just say fuck it and leave it there but I’m just not like that. Plus I love the clean look and I get in some extra exercise and steps on my step counter.

2 1/2 hours of shoveling later......and it was at least 20cm. And I'm in the south part of the city. Damn plows shoved snow up into the sidewalk area infront of every driveway. If they thought they were helping all they did was compact the snow making it a shit ton heavier.

One of the benefits I got from downsizing from a house to a condo 10 years ago.

I think about 80% of people in Toronto rely on bicycles to get around downtown because they are faster than cars as well as more comfortable year round.

When I lived in a townhouse and we had a heavy wet snow storm I had no problem shoveling the driveway, but paid one of the next door teenagers to shovel the icy dense "windrow" the city snowplows would inevitably leave at the end of my driveway. No heart attack for me, thank you very much...

I enjoy clearing the snow as it is great exercise but hard on your back so do not turn with your back when thowing and bend with your knees and get an ergonomic shovel
Do two cleanings . First one halfway through snowfall; a lot easier that way

I'm about 4 years away from this. And having the ability to leave, for at minimum, January, February and March on hopefully a permanent basis.
