The reason is liability on city property and the city unions getting their way, taking care of your city brethren before contracting it out.

Sure, I'm not blaming the officers themselves per se, that's the system as it was written by others. It still needs to be changed.

Unfortunately I doubt our new mayor has the stomach to take on the overspending on paid duty and similar problems with the police. He's going to concentrate on more important things, like cancelling 45 free metropasses.

So many reports, case after case after case...and you still trot out that BS about anecdotal evidence. Man!!if you are a cop as I suspect, it would be anecdotal evidence that cops are DUMB!!!

So many reports? Case after case? Huh? I know that the cops have had some problems and will continue to have problems. The nature of the job warrants that there will be some problems. Its time guys like you started looked a bit more closely at what actually goes on when there are problems rather than always pointing the finger of blame at the police.

How would YOU have welcomed the outrage of having a loutish fuckwit in a uniform totally unjustly, and with obvious impunity, stomping on YOUR head, then being subsequently thrown into a filthy lock-up facility while being threatened with charges that might barr you from travelling to the States, etc. How the HELL would you like that? I wouldn't like it. But, that does not mean that I am going to jump to the conclusion that all the police are loutish fuckwits.
The way that you have worded your reply would indicate that you are ready for a fight with a cop. So if I am an officer coming across you in a potentially explosive
situation, what do you think will happen? When you get arrested and thrown in jail, then you will be bawling about how the cop roughed you up over nothing.

Personally people with that attitude disgust me.

No I have already contributed far in excess of any benefit I will personally derive unless at some point I have serious health problems. I'm just cutting Canada off MY gravy train. I have not lived of the public teat like cops...

I like how you downplay the benefit that you have received from this country, and underestimate the cost of providing you with a safe environment.

I have seen more people in support of my arguements then your cop boot licking attitude. Between you and Rock all I hear is "never happened to me so it can't be true....I have only met nice cops..." No there are some fantastic cops. But there are enough bad ones out there and enough troubling reports that I want nothing to do with them. I would even be extremely hesitant to report a crime if I saw one in case I get jammed up by one of the dickheads. I would only report a crime if someone is in jeapordy.

A few posts above you mentioned anecdotal evidence and using it to draw a false conclusion. You might want to revisit that.
In this post you show your obvious dislike or distrust of the police (and probably authority figures in general).

Well put. I loved the way he worded,

It suggests to me that he has some degree of martial arts training and would drop a can of whoopass on any cop that treated him that way. I can't recall the last time a Metro cop got his ass whipped in a fight. I'm guessing FS missed the part in his training of knowing his opponent and picking the time and place of his fight to give him the advantage. In other words, be smart. Although he did say, 'he'd try'.
