While California is a tough act to follow in many respects, I can't understand why Toronto massage parlours seem so prudish by comparison. I have been to a MP about 40 times in GTA (all Asian) and 2 times in California. In LA and SF I got BJ and was offered f/s in LA by a gorgeous cute funny friendly Vietnamese girl for $100. In all my visits in Toronto I have never been offered more than a hj. When you're in the middle of nowhere on a freeing winter night, don't any of these girls think, "Let's get a little crazy?" Actually I don't think it has anything to do with the British heritage at all. It has more to do with the North American influence. The US is easily the most sexually repressed country in the western world. You can get FS at MPs in the UK, no probem at all. I went to a place called either Bangkok or Thailand massage in SF, but the place is crawling with them...take your pick. Their strip clubs are strange though. Topless bars allow drinking and smoking, whereas nude bars allow neither. If you are in the front row you must lay $1 bills on the stage after every song, and a girl comes thru the rest of the audience with a bucket (to collect cash). The VIP rooms are basically places where you jack off while the girl plays with herself etc. I thought this was quite hillarious (but I read on canbest that Mtl has these places too). Then they have these dodgy strip clubs where you can screw the girls in the back (of the parlour that is). I think both. I'd agree that Britain is far less prudish that they are perceived in North America and elsewhere. I think Canada took that Victorian/Edwardian England, and combined it with some good old Yankee Puritanism to become one of the most decent countries on earth (which I say with some distain...).

I went a place in downtown San Fran last year. I can't remember the name, but it might have been ___ Rose. Sorry, I did a lot of drinking that night. It was behind the downtown Hilton hotel. San Fran is probably the most liberal spot in the U.S., otherwise don't compare what you can get in the U.S. (and what you pay for it), to what you can get in Canada. We have the far better deal. Having said that, let's all agree that North America sucks (and not the good way), compared to Europe and is abysmal in comparison to the much of the rest of the world - staunchly Islamic countries excepted.

You may be right about the LE part..there may also be a cultural familiarity of knowing what the boundaries are and being able to communicate. In Korea I've heard that the ranchiest prostitution streets will only cater to Koreans. They don't want to have to try to communicate to a sweaty, hairy foreigner.
