If you're gong to do all of this in one or two trips, the best deal you can get for long distance travel is a 'Round the World Air Ticket, an RTW. For one fare from $1600 and up, but count on around $3500 for the most flexible you can travel on approximately a dozen air lines, including some of the best, right around the world making stops along the way staying for as long as you want as long long as you travel roughly east or roughly west. The more flexible ones allow you to make flight changes as you go. The cheaper less flexible not so much. Even the cheaper ones can be the same as the average trip to Oz or New Zealand and you can stop in Singapore, Hawaii, South Africa and Frankfurt on route so you're not so fried by the looooooong trip to NZ.

Another great air deal is an island hopper in the South Pacific using Fiji, or similar as a base. For a set price in a set timeframe you can visit as many islkand as your time and schedules will allow as long as you only visit a place once. It's like a Euro Pass in Europe only by air from island to island. From Fiji, it's the easiest/cheapest way to visit one of the most remote islands in the world, Easter Island. The last time I looked at Nandi to Easter Island fares it was $100 and now compare that same fare from Quito Ecuador, $400.

What's the point of this itinerary if the OP isn't into brown girls?

Well there are some great places in the world to see and experience where you don't have to 'experience brown girls. How about Frankfurt, Nepal, Singapore, NZ, Oz, Hawaii, LA and then home? Do you have to boff women in every town you visit? It's not like he's FUJI.

Is this a world travel trip or a pussy hunt?

Seriously, you're not going far on that budget. Montreal may be your best option.

An aside question: how can you afford to hobby as much as you appear to if you can only afford $2000 max. for a vacation?
Not judging, but it just seems odd. Either that, or you're hobbying outside of your means... ;)

He's not getting much pay for play on that budget, but he might be able to hook up with girls. You guys who think it's impossible to hook up with girls with $1000 for a week of expenses are forgetting what it was like to be in your 20's. I was flat broke in university most of the time but it didn't stop me from getting laid.

I think he's asking his question on the wrong board, though, a bunch of 40+ guys aren't going to be able to give a 20+ guy advice on how to meet girls.

He's not getting much pay for play on that budget, but he might be able to hook up with girls. Again, I suggest hooking up with them BEFORE you go, via dating sites, rather than relying 100% on chance when you get there. Mix it up a bit. Rendevous with girls you met online, and also try and meet some in bars and clubs.

Given the budget I'd also suggest nearer destinations though.

Did you read the list of places he wanted to go (Germany, Japan, Russia, Switzerland, New Zealand) and the things he wanted to do (car racing, surfing, hang gliding, hot air ballooning) beyond mongering?

I didn't even factor in the fun and carousing when I posted my comments. Barring a GREAT deal on airfare and accommodations, the flights, hotels, meals and drinks will eat through $2000 in no time in the countries he's listed. That leaves little $$$ for other fun stuff, including treating a local - online pre-hookup or otherwise - PYT to a night out or two.

I know you feel a compelled to be right all of the time, but have a read through the entire thread before you correct someone who is being realistic. And who didn't question whether he could actually score with a girl without P4P - a big 'if.' ;)

Sure, he's going to have to change his list of countries, and the only way he's doing all those activities on that budget is if he stays in Canada. He needs to select destinations with discounted airfare and where daily costs including hotel can be kept under $100.

It's doable, but you're right, not all the countries he proposed. He could do Asia, but not Japan. He could do Europe, but not Switzerland. He's probably best off aiming for a developing country like somewhere in Eastern Europe, Cuba, or off the beaten path in Mexico, or elsewhere in South/Central America. Even in Western Europe you can travel on the cheap if you're content with 1-star hotels and hostels and avoid the most expensive cities--and since he's in his 20's, he might well be.

But you're right, he needs to prioritize -- and it becomes a lot more doable if he can up his budget to $3000 from $2000.

Questor - Travelling for 1 or 2 weeks
I can spend 800 to 1000 on the travel package for which ever website I go with and I will have 500 to 1000 bucks in spending money depending where I go and what the exchange is.
I am interested in things that are fun and exciting. Trying stuff I have never done like Car Racing, Surfing, Hang Gliding, Hot Air Balloon Ride, Stuff like that and of course I wanna meet hot women too. =)
I am only looking to choose one country for right now I am just not sure where yet. So many places and so little time. I was wondering if someone could recommend a country to me. Doesn't have to be on my list just a place where you had lots of fun.
I was always curious about Montreal but never got around to making it there. Guess I should go there too.
As others have pointed out FTDCDT, you have a problem with your budget. Travel is expensive. For starters on such a tight budget, I would limit it to one week not two weeks. And others may disagree, but for one week, you'd be crazy to go to Asia.

Some European destinations are a little more do-able, but realistically you are very limited in what you will see. I mean if you are really keen on Europe, then I would suggest a destination like Paris or Barcelona. You can easily be happy exploring these cities for a week. But then big cities are relatively expensive. So you better count on spending some nights in hostels and doing some grocery shopping in the market. But again, its debatable if this is desirable with only a week. Factor in travel time, jet lag (less so if you are in your 20s).

I think you are better off to stick to Canada for the time being, given budget and time considerations. Montreal really is a great city. You could consider a side trip to Quebec City too. Alternatively, go biking in PEI, whale watching in Tadousac or Tofino. It sounds like you have a bit of an adventurous streak, so perhaps those last 2 would appeal to you. Consider going in the off season to avoid crowds and high air fare. You'll save some money and still get good weather in September.

Save money and bank vacation time for a longer, more exotic trip next year. I can recommend Turkey. Lots to see and do. Palaces, some of the oldest churches in Christiandom, the Blue Mosque, the Bazaar in Istanbul. Ancient troglodyte dwelling and hot air balloon rides in Cappadocia, spectacular Greek ruins in Ephesus, hot mineral springs in Pamukkale. Its possible to do in two weeks I think, but air fare might blow your budget.

Good luck, and let us know where you decide to go.

this is well above your budget but still worth mentioning

Oh wow! Some of their other adventures sound great too. But I don't see any prices.

While I'm sure you can find sex for sale in just about any country, you may also want to consider the legal aspect of hobbying in a foreign country. While in places like Germany, Holland, NZ, etc. prostitution is legal, its not in all countries, and attitudes towards hobbying vary widely. The punishment for being caught in illegal activities might be extremely severe in some places, e.g. mid-east. You may want to pick your destinations based on their legal system. Not all jails are as nice as those here in Canada. I'm not trying to discourage your trip, just pointing out what should be an important consideration.

I have a decent amount of vacation pay accumulated through my work place. I was planning a trip since I always wanted to travel and explore the world. The only problem is that I would be travelling alone. I have never traveled to another country by myself before and I am a bit scared and nervous to do so although my curiosity is pushing me in the direction of just doing it. I hate feeling caged like an animal and I would like to explore the world and meet new and interesting people. I was wondering if anyone out there has any good advice about travelling alone? I am interested in seeing Germany, Japan, Russia, New Zealand, Switzerland, among other places however I have not decided which country to go to first. Any suggestions? I am young (Mid 20's) so I am also looking for lots of hot horny babes (I am into White girls and Oriental girls) (I am NOT into Black or Brown girls) any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate any good advice that anyone has to offer. If you do not wish to answer the questions or find the questions stupid then please move on to another thread. Thanks
I would suggest Germany or Holland as a first European country to visit. Both tailor to young visitors and both have a great sex scene (though you'll have to pay for it).

Germany has their FKK Clubs and Amsterdam has the "Red Light District". Personally I would steer towards Germany. Bavaria is beautiful and they have a great beer culture... Pascha de Munchen is a pretty good FKK Club in Munich and isn't far from the public transit.. If you stay by the railway station in Munich there are lots of cheap hostels.

Just do some research and find out where more English speaking folks are staying. Then just start introducing yourself to people once you're there. You won't be the first single traveller anybody has run into.. People do it all the time.

Montreal isn't a bad pick. I hear the strip clubs are amazing. Nice restaurants, too.

Also close to home, NYC is supposed to be pretty interesting, though I don't know the best season to visit.

A way to save some money when your there is to get a lonely planet book for the city you are traveling too. It will list cheap accomodations, sites, places to eat, etc. THat way you can budget your trip, and have some money to hobby down there. What I would suggest is staying in hostels when you go, gives you a chance to meet other young travellers, and good opportunity to hook up with women.

I travel quite a bit and to places considerably "rougher" than the countries you have named... specifically, in Central America. If you use common sense and avoid the "bad areas" in cities as you would here, it's unlikely you'll have any trouble. Be careful not to flaunt expensive items like watches, and guard your Passport and wallet religiously. I carry one of those tacky wallets to hold documents and hang it around my neck, inside my shirt.

Also, being mid 20s, expect a certain amount of flack from border authorities, airport security and the like, although your suggested countries have pretty free passage between them. The US is the biggest problem for travel IMHO... a little paranoid they are, and I suppose for good reason.

And don't forget the golden rule of travel. Pile your money and your clothes on your bed before you pack. Then put half of the clothes back in the drawer, and double the amount of money. (Although I'm not suggesting to carry large bags of money with you... but you know what I mean I'm sure.)

Happy trails!

Thank you all for the fantastic advice. This will give me a chance to really plan things out more. I am not rich so my budget is a number one priority for me but I love the suggestions a few of you made about the hostels. I have never stayed at one but it might be interesting. Thanks again guys. =)

I'm in a similar situation.. budget is notsomuch a concern, within reason. P4P is not an important consideration (but if I happen to be in the area, why not partake?); I hear all the time that girls in other parts of the world are not as.. sexually repressive.. as in North America (although I honestly don't think I could pick up a girl to save my life.. I have no "game" whatsoever..). Europe (England and Germany in particular) or Australia would be the top of my list of "places to see".

I hear ya man =) I can't pickup a girl to save my life either but girls think my attempt is cute and I make them smile which is always good I guess. Have you ever tried a group trip with a bunch of random people that are all going to the same country as you?
