Tridel is easily among the top 2 or 3 developers in the city. (And no - I have no connection with them). Whether or not it is worth it to invest in any given project is another issue.

Sorry peelcowboy - as much as I'm inclined to agree with you - I actually read it somewhere else first!

They are one of the biggest, if not the biggest, developer of condominiums in Canada. I have had a chance to see some of their work up close. While I think their work and attention to detail is average they are far and above the other builders out there. If you go to the Ontario New Home Warranty Program website you will find them listed first for customer satisfaction every year. They are usually on time and on budget for a constructors stand point. They have a lot of weight to throw around and therefore manage the trades quite successfully.

My career requires me to deal with many developers in Canada and the North East U.S.

Toronto, Ontario
I lived in one for about two years.

PROS
Excellent Buildings, great services and facilities.
Clean buildings with security, pools, game and party
rooms. My cousing even got engaged in one of the
party rooms

CONS
Small apartments, Small Bedroom (barley got a double
bed into the room). Maintenance fees are out of this world.
Very little or no appreciation of your property values.

If you are willing to pay for it then it's worth it, otherwise
buy a a freehold property.

The condo market is saturated.

Do yourself a favour and don't bother with one.

Buy a little house, semi, whatever wherever you can afford it.

If you have to go to Hamilton, you will be far better off buying a piece of property verses a glorified apartment.
