Seriously, whether you support the reasons for being in Iraq or not, we all have to support the work that they’re doing there. If they leave now, before the country can reasonably maintain law and order by themselves then they will have handed the country to the terrorists free and clear. It will be open season in Iraq and everywhere else because the terrorists will have a huge victory.

Iraq is the battle ground of the western world vs. terror.

Everyone who attends this craven defeatist rally is a terrorist enabler.

Canada has enough problems as it is. Do we really need another country's cowards, traitors, and pathologically self-centred people

its the damage they caused and there very presence there that is the fuel for most of the violence
completely agree.

thanks all for sharing.

Very controversial subject but all opinions should be respected. pls dont put others down for stating their views or else we are not being very condusive to the whole issue.

"Mankind has to get out of violence only through nonviolence. Hatred can be overcome only by love. Counter-hatred only increases the surfaces as well as the depth of hatred." -Ghandi

Can someone pls tell me how to put out a fire when my hands are covered in gasoline?

yeah thats a brilliant idea US troops out of Iraq so the radical Sunni elements can ignite a civil war with the Shia and produce a situation that would be a sequel to Rwanda, thereby turning the country into an ungovernable Somalia, geez the radical left is so dumb with their America is evil blinders on.

yes the invasion was wrong but lets not cry over spilled milk, the US and the international community has a duty in helping this country get back on its feet, and by withdrawing its going to leave it in the hands of the extremists with huge amounts of bloodshed that would continue for years, well maybe not when the Shias and Sunnis would just exterminate each other, thereby leaving the radical left in the West saying ohhh see what the US did they withdrew and left the country to its own devices.

regardless of whether you agree with them being there or not, pulling troups out now is the dumbest thing they could posibly do.

I think some people let their hatred for the US and Bush cloud their judgement. They want the US to loose and the terrorists to win.

one man's terrorist is another mans resistance fighter..... if 150,000 iraqis invaded the US and slaughterd tens of thosuands of civlians and ousted the government and took control of the natural resources, what would you call the people who fought back against the invaders and those who colaborate with teh invaders? terrorists?
How is killing your own elected officials, your own police officers and members of your own military a resistance effort. The fallacy is that the main fighting is between the terrorists and US forces, the main fighting is between the Iraqi terrorists and the Iraqi government. I think you call that terrorism, even if CNN doesn't.

If 150,000 Iraqis invaded I wouldn't be blowing up busloads of children. I wouldn't be killing cops.

These people are terrorists. They're not trying to repel the invasion. They're trying to create chaos and annarchy.

I think it's more accurate to call them chaos fighters.

One of the factors in the debacle is that North America never has been occupied by a foreign army (unless you count what happened to the native tribes). That may be a factor in making Runsfeld et al believe that the Iraqis would welcome the americans with flowers and kisses.

In Europe, when Germany occupied countries during the second world war, the people who collaborated with the germans were targets for the resistance movement both during and after the war, although admittedly the methods used were more civilized.

Hold on there bot,

It looks like you may be confusing an Iraqi Civil War with terrorism.

Of course Team 'W' would, for self propaganda purposes, prefer to use the term terrorism. They will deny like hell that Iraq is sinking into that dreaded and predicted Civil War !

What a ridiculous comparison and falacious to boot. The US hasn't slaughtered tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians more left wing anti war propoganda. And certainly you aren't really trying to compare an Iraqi invasion of the US democratically elected govt with the allies invasion of the dictatorial govt of Iraq under Hussein that massacred Shiites and Kurds, invaded Kuwait and contravened 18 U.N. Security Council resolutions are you?? I wouldn't want to think that anyone not named WoodPeckr or TOVisitor could be that ignorant.
