Indeed, "lot lizards" do exist. While driving across this fair country last summer, I had the rare pleasure of sharing a couple of drinks with a trucker in the bar next to my roadside motel in Regina. He regaled me with stories of life on the road, and among the things that caught my interest, such as the hazards of driving with hanging meat, and how to avoid speeding tickets, "lot lizards" featured prominently. They offer very reasonable rates as well, but as always, YMMV.

It is a very common thing, lot lizards. Yes it is very common in the states, from personal experience there are not to many truck stops in the states where they do not frequent. Think for a minute because some of those fellows in there have not been home in weeks. It is common practise if you do not want to be bugged by them to buy a sticker with says your truck is a lot lizard free zone. I have to say that most truck stops along the 401 are frequented by lot lizards. Its the perfect outcall service because each rig comes with its own bed.

Not that common in Canada as in U.S. (IMO)

It's been years since I been out there but have seen some a couple times at Fifth Wheel Hwy 25/401.

I don't think they are at every truck stop in Canada though. I use to drive Ottawa - Toronto a lot a few years back and always stop at truck stops...(mostly the 10 Acre Truck Stop nr Bellville) and have NEVER seen any.

They were also called, "pay for play beavers," and "coin slot beavers," back in the CB craze days.
