When Kamala said she'd go after price gouging, the MAGA crowd lost it, screaming about government overreach and socialism. But now Trump’s telling Walmart to eat the tariff instead of raising prices, I'm betting the righties will claim it's a patriotic economic strategy? The double standard and hypocrisy will be quite enjoyable to snicker at.

Markets set prices, nothing unique about Walmart.

We're going to reduce pharmaceutical prices and the EU is going to pay for it. Is Trump a Karen?

actually, I think this has a good chance of happening. European countries negotiate drug prices. Where is the US? Is traditionally been a price taker. Trump is proposing a most favored nation pricing requirement for pharmaceuticals given in the US is the largest customer. What’s happening now is US funds most of the R&D and he wants to spread that to Europe so yes, Europe will pay more and the US will pay less.

Congress has a law that states Medicare can not negotiate drug prices. Until that is repealed it won't happen.

I hope you don't think Republicans will do that anytime soon.

Oh and it's the US govt via universities and grants that funds a good portion of research.

There is a problem with your solution OTB (welcome back), Musk has gutted scientific RD. There is no indication that those jobs will be reinstated. Germany, Japan and The Netherlands is gaining on America's loss. Brain power always goes to where they can work without persecution - that's how Nazi Germany lost WWII.

i’m sorry, but that’s hyperbole, but I was referring to the 80% of profits pharmaceutical firms get from the US.

both Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, are sponsoring bills to do exactly what Trump is proposing.
I know. They have been calling for it for years. Now, what GOP Senators and Congresspersons are going to co sponsor it and help push the caucus to accept it?

Oh, and who is going to tell the Drug Company CEO's?

I would expect Trump to whip votes, pretty aggressively, this is a pretty clear case what are your priorities, your campaign contributions or your constituents?

He can't even whip votes for his reconciliation bill. Josh Howley called it the Titanic. And do you think Collins, Murkosky, McConnell, Paul, and various Senators with drug company donors will back this?

And seriously? We all know where the priorities lie. They are trying to cut Medicaid, and means test Medicare and Social Security. With an eye to kill those too. They don't give a rat's ass about some MAGA in Arkansas.

Most of Congress is owned by Big Pharma. The bill will never get to the Floor and Big Media will cover Milania's shade of nail polish instead of drug prices for the next few days.
