That's because WWII was the "good war". They've been trying to recapture that feeling ever since...after the Korea and Vietnam clusterfucks, Middle East, Libya, etc, finding another Hitler is God sent. Maybe the climate war can deliver, although the apocalypse is slow coming.

Like Hitler, Putin has long term plans. Hitler's plan was to exterminate all Slavs and establish a German Volk-empire over Eastern Europe. So he had to conquer Poland and genocide the Poles.
Putin's long term plan is to restore the old Tsarist Empire. So he has to re acquire Ukraine, Belarus, Finland, Poland and the Baltics. No amount of Trump's "extra spit deep throat gagging specials" would have stopped Putin doing what Putin planned to do for the last 10 years.
This is going to keep everyone whipped up until Tuesday or so, and then what?

I haven't, and am awaiting the plea deal with a fine, or the conviction and years long appeal process. Cripes we not even see a trial if he gets in and delays it until then.
As I said a conviction will end up at the SCOTUS.
