Okay, this isn't exactly a hi tech question, but unfortunately its high enough to have me thoroughly confused.

For a couple of months now, when I watch tv, the top and bottom of the screen are cut off. So for example, when watching sports, they often have stats such as time left and score along the bottom of the screen. That is now off screen on my tv. Another example, I was watching Letterman the other night and the top half of his head was cut off for the whole monologue.

I have one of the slightly older tvs that have more of a square shape, as opposed to the newer wide screens.

So the question is, did I push the wrong button on my remote at some point, altering the viewing format somehow? If so, how do I get it back to normal?

This also happened to me. I fixed it through trial and error by pushing various buttons on the remote.

Post the tyoe and model number so someone can find a manual.

You might try unplugging the TV for a while and see if it resets itself.

Another possibility - the television is dying and you should get a new one.

Do you have a digital cable box? Either Rogers or Bell? If so, you may have selected the zoom picture option.

Bingo! Problem corrected. I didn't know, or at least had forgotten, that it has this zoom feature.

Thanks all for your helpful suggestions.
