Lol. Great source...🤦‍♂️

Anyways it was already reported that ministers from China alrrady visited the US dept of treasuries last week by Korean media. If that isnt kowtowing....The CCP demanded they take the photo down.

As for being uninvited, the meeting was agreed upon earlier this week. The screenshot is taken directly from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

This "source" on youtube is blatant disinformation. Probably should stop listening to him.

This is not a trade war just between the U.S. and China.
This is a trade war waged by Trump against the *entire world*.

The usual allies of the U.S. are no longer on the side of the U.S.
Hence for the U.S. to win it has to beat China and the rest
of the world as well.

U.S. population amounts to no more than 5% of that of
the entire world. The world's richest nation is also drown
in debt. I see there is little hope the U.S. will be able to drive
the yield of its debt to below 4.5%. It may have to raise
more than $5 trillion to finance government spending for
the rest of this year.

This trade war will leave the U.S. broken.

The U.S. has its share of problems but things are absolutely broken in China because of the CCP.

I guess this is why China has just stopped reporting certain statistics. Everything from youth unemployment to inflows and outflows of foreign investment to soy sauce production, number of cremations, tuberculosis vaccinations (used to estimate population growth/decline). You can look for yourself. Official government statistics from the National Bureau in China below.

It has always been the viewpoint of the CCP of if you can hide it, why fix it?

Clearly stated on the Chinese Foreign Ministry website that Switzerland invited both parties to attend. Also, has been corroborated by Swiss media. But yeah, lets continue to make up stories.

Also, if you thought Trump had a cult of personality, you ain't seen nothing until you go to China. Just a little taste of the Chinese foreign ministry website homepage vs the U.S. State Department or Canada. Xi all day, everyday and nothing else.

He Lifeng met with American officials in Switzerland to talk about trade and tariffs. To me, this shows that China isn’t fully committed to these talks yet. If they were serious, they might have invited the Americans to China or made an official trip to the U.S. Instead, choosing a neutral place like Switzerland feels like a way to keep things low-key and distant.

China prefers to have less formal talks with America on trade and tariffs in Switzerland, on neutral ground. China is doing what Carney did in his first meeting with Trump. Size him up and see what his game is.

Sun Tzu - The philosopher General
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake"

Trump has intentions of placing tariffs on many countries but have paused some tariffs for 90 days ( now 60 days ). Canada, China, Mexico is waiting for Trump to make his greatest mistake. Then the angry mob will descend on him. If he backs down on the tariffs, he will look like a fool.

As of May 2025, President Donald Trump has implemented tariffs on imports from over 100 countries, marking a significant shift in U.S. trade policy.

Universal 10% Baseline Tariff

On April 2, 2025—dubbed “Liberation Day”—Trump announced a universal 10% tariff on nearly all imports to the United States, citing a national emergency over the trade deficit. This baseline tariff applies to most countries, with notable exceptions such as Canada and Mexico, which are subject to different rates. Business Insider+2Wikipedia+2Wikipedia+2Wikipedia

Additional "Reciprocal" Tariffs on 57 Countries

Beyond the baseline, Trump imposed higher "reciprocal" tariffs on 57 countries and territories, with rates varying based on perceived trade imbalances or unfair practices. Examples include:Wikipedia+1Wikipedia+1

  • China: 34%
  • India: 26%
  • South Korea: 25%
  • European Union: 20%
  • Vietnam: 46%
  • Thailand: 36%
  • Bangladesh: 37%
  • South Africa: 30%
  • Cambodia: 49%
  • Sri Lanka: 44%

Proposed 100% Tariffs on BRICS Nations

In addition to existing measures, Trump has threatened to impose 100% tariffs on countries within the BRICS alliance—Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and newer members like Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the UAE—if they pursue efforts to move away from the U.S. dollar in international trade. This policy aims to discourage de-dollarization initiatives. The Indianapolis StarMagzter

Summary

In total, Trump's tariff strategy encompasses:

These measures represent one of the most extensive protectionist trade policies in recent U.S. history.

Wait I thought the US showed up to Switzerland uninvited? Even though it was confirmed by the Swiss media and the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

At the invitation of the government of Switzerland, from May 9 to 12, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council He Lifeng will visit Switzerland. He will hold talks with Swiss leaders and relevant parties. During his visit to Switzerland, Vice Premier He, as the Chinese lead person for China-U.S. economic and trade affairs, will have a meeting with the U.S. lead person Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. From May 12 to 16, Vice Premier He will be in France to co-chair with the French side the 10th China-France High Level Economic and Financial Dialogue.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is invited to side meeting of Swiss/French/China summit to discuss Trump tariffs.

Switzerland : Hey, you guys. The Meeting is still on, right.

France : Yeah, I will be there.

China : Guess what? The Orange Bastardo wants to send one of his guys too.

Switzerland : No way! They are fucking up the world.

France : We are having the meeting to find ways to fuck up the fuckers, so I say no.

China : ........but wait. They are sending a guy to find out what we are doing. So, I will invite him to the Viennese pastry shop across the street from my hotel for coffee and
Sachertorte. The side meeting can tell us a lot. It will also send a message to the orange thug that we will not negotiate against each other. It is all good, Canada is sending me boatloads of LNG gas and Alberta crude and Mexico is taking a lot of electric cars. Let Trump find out that the "Who needs you" game that he is playing is on himself.

No doubt China will be hit by Trump's tariffs economically.

Xi has likely decided to tough it out over a 2 to 3 months period.
The hardship is worth the reward of Trump's demise followed
by zero tariffs.

A lot of reports of companies leaving or at least preparing exit strategies. Also a lot of factories mysteriously burning down all over China due to unpaid wages with the economic slowdown (was happening previous to trump 47)

From a few months ago, although more factories have burned down this week. Surprisingly, these videos were immediately removed from Weibo. I wonder why???

I guess this is why Trump offers to lower tariffs on China to only 80%.

What do you think tariffs on both sides will be like after the talk concludes?
60% on China and 0% on the U.S.?

I think he offered to lower tariffs if china opened up its market. I dont see it happening.

Best solution is to decouple as much as possible until china agrees to abide by international trade laws and those promises are actually upheld this time which probably means a change in government in china.

Do you seriously believe that Trump's offer of lowering tariffs to 80%
would do anything? The rest of the world should drop to their knees
in gratitude to accept Trump's dinky 10% tariff.

Trump did it for the drama. He will have to bring tariffs to zero
to end the trade war on the world.

The U.S. could have gotten away with moderate tariffs taking
advantage of the reserve currency status of the USD. Trump has
screwed it up.

Trump doesn't have to engage in talks if the tariffs are
as beneficial to the U.S. as it is devastating to China's
economy. He simply has to wait it out until regime changes
in China.

There might be some grandstanding but its part of negotiation. It would be silly to offer what you would accept as your opening especially when all other countries are looking to get the most out of you.

Unfortunately, it may take more than just waiting it out bc of how china is run by the CCP. Accelerating a regime change through social and political unrest would be beneficial to the Chinese and the entire world.
