'93 is my Favorite Number!

And here we have it: the Red Devils vs. the Blaugrana.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Josep Guardiola I Sala will meet on May 27 in Eterna Roma.

They will both coach their teams in a very important game.

The winner pays for dinner is my understanding.

Bizarro game

A red card was given on a dive but Essien was allowed to get away with stamping Xavi's shin? The Norwegian ref can't be happy with his decision making.

Basically it came down to this; Chelsea used their physical advantage to shut Barca down with catenaccio. Yet, they could not spring the counter-attack fast enough to score. Catenaccio places extreme pressure on the midfield that plays it; Essien and Ballack self-distructed in the final 10 minutes. Barca wins the game.

I'm happy that The Great Satan isn't sending two clubs to Rome. Catalan fans welcome to my second home; English fans don't make pigs of yourselves.

Having seen all of the game I think the ref made a lot of serious mistakes. He admitted so afterwards.

Easily two penalties, if not more for Chelsea. Red card was undeserved for Barcelona.

They need to be more careful in their selection of referees as was clear enough last night poor refereeing alters results.

Shocking scenes after the match by Chelsea players. Drogba is likely to be banned for quite a long time.

And Roman hosts please try to refrain from stabbing your guests.

Entertaining game, but Barca was disappointing. Chelsea was superior over the two legs. Messi was closed down both games. Alves and Eto were simply awful.

I also can't help but chuckle at the different treatment afforded to the two most gifted (of the moment), players on the planet. People love to hate Ronaldo, and just plain love Messi. I readily admit that Ronaldo's a whining petulant sonofabitch and Messi is a humble nice guy....but when they're both at the top of their respective games, Ronaldo is the better player.

I agree with you on that. Ronaldo has played well in alot of big games this season hes hitting good form at the business end of the season.

should be a hell of a final, looking forward to it. im thinking Manchester United will win it.

How can anyone say that Chelsea was superior when they folded in the last ten minutes of the match against ten men? Arrogance aside, I've already mentioned that C Ronaldo is better than Messi - the Argentine isn't even better than Antonio Cassano.

Against United Barca are really going to miss Tiago Motta, Genoa will probably get a CL spot with him.

Was just one mistake by Essien not clearing when he should that let Barcelona through. Not sure you can describe that as folding.

Chelsea in the end denied by very bad refereeing. Almost everyone says that.

Credit though to Barcelona for playing as hard and as well as they did with 10 men. Can't see them beating Man U.

Barca did nothing with their superior possession over the two legs, and if it wasn't for one Essien mis-kick the story would be about how Chelsea had completely closed them down. If Drogba had been on his game, he'd have given them that insurance goal on any one of the chances created for him. Barca had about 70% possession in each game, and yet Chelsea created more chances. That's superior.

I'll be in Spain when the final is played, Catalan country actually, and am looking forward to the atmosphere and the inevitable Messi/Ronaldo comparisons. Naturally, I'll have to keep my bias to myself. ;)

Oh by the way, Messi isn't better than Cassano? Ok my friend whatevur.

I bet it's a wonderful time to be in London this week.
I was in London for both games and the mood was dismal one day and sheer anger the next, almost night and day, but overall it was another disappointing year for the London fans.

The Arsenal v. Man Utd game had all the momentum to start and then 15 minutes in that was all drained. Of course coming out for the second half hopes were raised but another 15 minutes in and Gunners fans were leaving the Emirates, with flags in hand, and the police had a quiet evening, except for the rowdy ManU fans celebrating as they finally made their way home. Imagine you get to teh finals only to put on a dreadful performance, no quality whatsoever.

The Chelsea v Barcelona game was supposed to be a reprive of the previous night and we even had the Gunners behind us if you could believe that. After Essien scored the place erupted and the celebration lasted until added time and then Inesta scored. The last assault by the Blues had no plan, they were caught off guard even being up 1 extra man and you can't leave a game to a refs call at the end. This night however, the police were extremely busy making sure that Blues fans left the Bridge in an orderly fashion, didn't happen, and the refs had to be wisked away in a timely and safe manner.

I am looking forward to ManU v Barca in the final in Rome and not a rematch vs Chelsea.

Treble Champions - Barca! Barca! Barca!

I hope to be proven wrong on this.....

With Puyol out barca is losing vast amounts of physicality that they don't have in other positions - to make matters worse Abidal is a disaster. Barca will be far too preoccupied with Chelsea's counterattack to find net. It's over my Catalan friends...I hope to be proven wrong.
I guess this is what being delusional gets you!

A trip to Rome, a Champions League win to go along with your Spanish League Championship and the King's Cup.

A Rookie coach who won it as a player also and was up against a Bonafide Saint of Coaching.

A Second goal by Messi that was poetry incarnate and a wonder to behold.

Today FC Barcelona is the greatest team in the greatest game known to our world.

Let Us praise in Humble Wonder as the Catalan disciples display the Gospel of Futbol, in Eterna Roma and anywhere else.

Viva Barca! Mes Que Un Club Catala.

Like I said before if Barcelona wins I'll gladly eat a scarafone. This is the best event that could happen to football.

Wasn't sure if that was Puyol on the pitch or Godzilla.

I'd rather have you eating some good Tapas with Gazpacho, then a Paella con Mariscos with a nice cold Sangria. Improve your Catalan, you'll be hearing more of it.

In regards to Puyol or Godzilla? It was both. Puyol has a little Godzilla DNA to go along with Herculean Heritage.
