Arlovski was "TKO'd", I feel it was a total rip off and way to soon to call whether or not he could "intelligently defend himself". He rocked Sylvia with his flurry and I think he was shocked to see Sylvia get rocked so soon. He didn't take advantage like he did in the first fight and stood there in amazement. Had he taken Sylvia to ground 'n' pound it would be over in a more dramatic fashion. Sylvia came back and rocked Arlovski with a right of his own and the Pit Bull fell forward. I know usually when a fighter falls forward it means 'lights out' but in Arlovski's case he was up after the call but it was too late since Herb Dean decided otherwise. All I can say is Sylvia is gonna get a shit-kicking in Arlovski vs. Sylvia III because Arlovski will come out of this loss and work harder than ever before. Can't wait to see it and I hope Sylvia doesn't use Matt Hughes' tactics and have Arlovski wait two years before the UFC management has to jump in and confirm the bout (just like Hughes did with St. Pierre for those that don't know)
In the other main event Ortiz vs. Griffin was an amazing fight. Ortiz owned Griffin in the first round and I think overwhelmed him as well. But Griffin has heart, this guy kept fighting when the average guy would've thrown in the towel. He came back in the second and third and put up a fight but it was more even at that point, and Ortiz had done the damage in the first round. I see a re-match with this fight in the near future as well.
Diaz vs. Sherk was exactly like every other Nick Diaz fight in the past. Diaz waits for his opponent to attack and throws a flurry of punches. I give Diaz credit because when you look at his physique, this guy is really skinny but that is because he is 6' tall and most of the others in is class are under 5'10". Nobody really owned this fight as it was like a boring boxing match.
