GSP vs Serra
St Pierre scored a takedown seconds into the fight and pounded Serra throughout the first round with big punches and elbows. Serra looked a little better in the second, landing a kick and a couple of punches, but was overwhelmed by the bigger stronger St Pierre who pounded the champion at will, St Pierre landed huge knees to the side of the helpless Serra until the fight was stopped. Total domination by GSP TKO round two

Rich Franklin vs Travis Lutter: Lutter scored an early takedown, got the mount, and secured a tight armbar, somehow Franklin escaped and stuffed the rest of Lutter’s takedown in the first round. In the second round Franklin punished the gassed Lutter, who still tried for the takedown, Franklin wobbled Lutter with a nice side kick to the head and finished him with punches..TKO round two for Franklin

Kalib Starnes vs Nate Quarry: Kalib came out and proved he could run faster backwards than Quarry could forwards. What a disgrace, Starnes should be banned from the UFC, one judge even scored the fight 30-24. Unanimous decision Quarry.

Michael Bisbing vs Charles McCarthy: Bisbing came out strong landing nice knees and punches, McCarthy scored a nice takedown, and came close to securing an armbar, Bisbing escaped and then overwhelmed McCarthy with knees against the fence, the round ended, but McCarthy was unable to continue TKO Bisbing end of round one

Mac Danzig vs Mark Bocek: Bocek came out strong and controlled the first round with strong wrestling and nice takedowns, Danzig reversed him and finished the last 30 seconds on top with nice ground and pound. Round two was all Danzig as he rocked Bocek with 2 big knees to the face. Danzig landed another knee in round three, Bocek’s face was a mess as Danzig finally finished him with a rear naked choke..Great fight.

Pretty dominant performance by GSP. Went for the ground and pound instead of exchaning with Serra. Got the takedowns pretty easily. Serra verbally submitted when GSP was kneeing him non-stop into the rib cage.

Look for GSP v.s Jon Fitch next.

Man that was bad. I can't see how Starnes can come back from that one. If he does fight in the UFC again it will be on the undercard for sure.

Ageed Starnes should be finished in the UFC. That was just shamefull.

I give Bocek credit, he gave it everything he had right to the very end. I hope Dana brings him back.

it was pretty funny when they kept switching back and forth(showing each fighter) on the big screen after the fight. I don't think Starnes will be able to show his face around his hometown for a while.

the fans were very vocal about what they saw in the fight , at one point chanting ... BORING...BORING

All in all I didnt think it was a good card. IMO the best fight was the 1st one on ppv. The red head from Canada had heart he kept going forwards even after that knee to the chin. I give him lots of props.

I really thought lutter would beat Rich on the ground. Who knew he doesnt work on his conditioning at all. Come on man you're a pro fighter making good money but you cant show up at your fight in shape?
A few years back he didnt even make weight, wft?
Pro fighter+ a training camp+ 6fig contract and you're stillout of shape. He should retire and go back to his old job if hes not taking the ufc serious.

The gsp fight was okay but nothing great. gsp proves once again noone in his weight class can wrestle with him. He kept shooting Matt and pounding him on his back. I would'ov liked a more exciting beat down on Matt maybe rearranged his face then in the last round submit him. Make it so Matt would have to be carried out of the ring. Ok fight but not exciting. Matts beat down on gsp was better.

I'm glad I didnt shell out big money to see it live. I hope at least the unda cards were better.

I hope Dana beats up Starnes in the locker room and tears up his cheq..What a disgrace

I thought it was a good card, the Starnes chase was horrendous, but the rest were pretty good, I think there was only one other decision out of 11 fights.

Our hotel room was next-door to Dana's, we met him a couple of times in the elevator, we chatted with him and shook hands. He is very slick in person, the macho blusters and all the F-bombs are just for TV.

IT WAS AWESOME TO SEE LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would definitely go to another live event. The crowd was crazy for GSP and very much hating Serra. Although as Serra left he was quite gracious in defeat and many gave him some well earned applause.

As for Kalib Starnes many were very pissed off about his run-for-the-hills act during his fight and things were actually thrown at him as he left. I personally saw a cup of Coke go cartwheeling his way.

Another thing that was odd was the Quebecois love for Michael Bisping even from the start. It was strange as he was cheered crazily and McCarthy was booed from the get-go. Odd.

Rest of the card was OK and the fights were OK but it didn't really matter to me. If you've never seen a card live and you're a fan you have to go. It's a scene baby!

I observed that the crowd were pretty English, everyone I heard was speaking English, not French. I was interested that the announcments were in English only, the TKO MMA cards they do both.

I think people like Bisping because he was a winner on The Ultimate Fighter, so the casual fan in particular knows him better. I certainly know more about Bisping, from TUF, then I do about McCarthy.

Bisping is a pretty interesting guy. Contraversy seems to follow him. That makes him a maketable commodity for Dana and the UFC. In the next year I expect to see him fight alot more stiffer competition and we will see if he is the real deal or not.

Dan Henderson or Rich Franklin would own him, let alone Anderson Silva.

Is there any argument that Anderson Silva and GSP are 1-2 as far as "pound for Pound" is concerned ?

I know they are in different weight class, but is there any chance they'll meet ? and who would win ?

The only argument would be Fedor Emelianenko. Pretty big argument, I might add.

I'm not a big fan of P4P rankings. Who knows how Fedor would fight if he was smaller or how GSP would fight if he was bigger? I think one should be ranked #1 PFP by beating all comers, lighter and heavier, as Royce Gracie did back in the day.

I objected to Silva being called the #1 P4P before Silva beat Dan Henderson. Henderson was a middleweight champion and a light heavyweight champion, plus he won a decision victory over big Nog (who has been heavyweight champion in both Pride and UFC), so I think that Henderson could have at one time been considered arguably #1 P4P (Arguably because Henderson never fought Fedor and because big Nog submitted Henderson on a rematch). In convincingly beating Henderson, I think Silva got some serious P4P cred.

I would like to see Silva try light heavyweight although there's so much talent in that division already, I don't see Dana White being keen on such a move. It seems more likely that small light heavyweights will move down to middleweight to fight Silva.

I don't see GSP beating fighters much bigger than himself, and I think that Silva would destroy GSP. I think GSP vs Ryo Chonan or a BJ Penn rematch would be interesting.

Bisping and Franklin would be a good one. Both would stand and bang which makes for an exciting fight. But henderson and Franklin now that's the one which I would pay my hard earned Dollars to see.

As for Silva I just don't see anybody giving him a go at 185. Maybe he will get tired of beating everybody up in his division and try 205. There's alot of possibilities there when you think of it. Rampage,Lidell,Jardine,Shogun even Ortiz and Forrest. Dana probably wouldn't go for it though.
