I would politely decline and send a gift card for Wal-Mart
I wouldn't even send the gift card. Imagine charging to attend your wedding and expecting a gift on top of that. This entitlement mentality has reached new heights. I saw another youtube video of groom who was charging $450 to attend his wedding using the exactly same justifications. Ridiculous.

Anyone who pays to attend a wedding is nuts.

Cheers

These pea brains should just get married at city hall and call it a day.

I think Italian weddings it is expected...I have never heard of a figure being given but I think it was enough to cover your cost. Personaly I think the better idea is to put the cost of a wedding on a down payment for a house

At a SP near me
Reminds me of a story I was told by a family member who drove a dump truck. There were hundreds of drivers lining up to make a cash contribution to the wedding of the foreman’s daughter’s wedding.

Coming from an Italian background giving money to the couple is the norm and can be more than 450, however the utter self entitlement of this couple turns me right off.
