well i guess deep down we all knew it was coming. i just read that a guy from the colorado theater is suing the theater and warner bros. and has vowed that everyone held accountable will pay.

i am not expert but i don't know what warner bros. or the movie theater has to do with him getting shot but i do know that he will get paid to make him go away and i think he knows that.

The guy is claiming that if there was adequate security there would not have been a shooting.

Torrence Brown Jr., one of the Aurora movie shooting survivors, is planning on suing the theater, confirmed his family's publicist on Wednesday. "We're going to make sure whoever is accountable is going to take responsibility for this tragedy,

This is not a surprise and there will be further legal action from others.

Warner Bros. will have enough financial clout to avoid any type of liability (or they may provide a small award, kept silent naturally) and resolve the issue. Claiming that violence in movies is a trigger for the mentally unstable, can be hard to prove, considering the numerous violent flicks that have been released over the years.

On the other hand, if it was proven that the gunman planned to use the emergency exit as his means of entering the building, then the theater may be liable for not having an alarm system in place when the door was opened (basing my assumption on reports that he propped the door open to gain access to the theater).

The law is a different animal in the USA. Not bad, just different.

He may have a case against the theatre. I was discussing this with friends and we were wondering why the emergency exit was not interlocked with the security system.

That said, if this is not a legal requirement (building code, fire code, etc.) he will have a much more difficult time.

As to Warner Bros - good luck and be careful. They are liable to sue you right back in spades and they will play hardball on this one.

As of a day or two ago a fund has already raised $2 million for the victims.

Warner Bros. has contributed to the fund, but in an undisclosed amount. Some knowledgeable but anonymous sources say that amount was $1 million.
