I don't usually watch much of the pre-game stuff. I'm usually too busy getting the snacks ready before the game actually starts. However, I don't want to miss #17 getting the respect he has earned for this crazy team. Mr. Clark could of played in any era.

Come on that is all you remember of Wendel Clark???

Homo, Skim or 2%, I would have Wendel Clark on my team any day... Hockey Team that is...

Never saw Keon or Mahavolich play.. but Salming, Sittler, Palmateer and Wendel are my favorite Leafs.

Sundin would have been up there... and still would be had the idiot accepted a trade to Detroit last year...

I would to say the best year the leafs had since I started watching (late 1967) & then understood the game was the year after Doug Gilmour arrived from Calgary.
The transformation was a bunch of pussys into contenders was amazing
Gilmour came second in the MVP & Clark played some of his best hockey

Gay. Straight. Bi. Who cares? Hell of a hockey player.

It's a shame the Leafs had (let) Clark doing so much fighting, especially in his first two years. He fought way too many heavyweights at 5'11', 185lbs and it took a toll on his long-term health - hands, shoulders and back. I'm not saying he shouldn't have fought - it's what made him so special - but the Leafs should not have let him take on all comers - especially the larger enforcers whose main purpose was to fight. He was too valuable to lose to penalties and fight-caused injury.

Without all the injuries I truly believe he would have been a no-doubt Hall of Famer, not just a Leaf legend.

You gotta had it to MLSE.
You really do.
The Habs have Patrick Roy night and are retiring #33.
What do the Leafs do?
Wendel Clark night?
Unbelieveable.
Sure Clark was a decent player and his style pandered to most Leaf fans (hardworker, never-give-up, gritty, blue collar, and all that crap you say about losers) but really come on. Let's have a reality check.
They are trying to upstage Patrick Roy and the Habs with Wendel Clark?
Maybe Brian Burke can walk out on Wendel Clark night, announce he's the new GM for the next 50 years, and suck Wendel's dick!
Now THAT would be newsworthy!

The last I checked, Wendel had never played goal and Patrick had never played forward, so why would you compare the two ? or it's just that you wouldn't miss a chance to bad mouth the Leafs ?

Why can't I compare two players?
Patrick Roy is a surefit hall of famer. Wendel will never get there. He simply wasn't good enough.
Patrcik won cups and mvps. Wendel won nothing.
I am not bad mouthing anyone. I am simply asking if you guys actually believe in your minds that Wendel Clark is of the same stature as Patrick Roy in the history of the game?
I mean honestly.
Try to avoid all that Go Leafs Go I love Wendel crap and answer honestly.

You do know that the Wendel night was planned BEFORE the Roy night was planned don't you, or have you conveniently overlooked that in your usual anti Leaf rant.

Patrick beat his wife and is a shitty "hockey" parent/dad/coach. Roy Jr. made quite the spectacle of himself last year in a game that resembled "Slapshot".

Great goalie with the rings to prove it. However, he quit on Montreal and why they would want to honour him after that is a joke.

A Confederacy of Dunces
Patrick Roy ~ Le Grande Jerk!

Or as Don Cherry calls him- "Pat Roy"

Patrick Roy will never be synonymous with words like classy, gracious, or humble—all words that usually propel a talented and successful superstar athlete into the pantheon of sports legend.

Never believed the hush-up story about the domestic abuse, beats up his wife, and heard him say one night after a loss that it was the d's fault, "me, myself, I played very well"!!!

The next generation A-Hole Roy in the making is none other than his son Jonathan! Talk about the apple doesn't fall far from the tree?

The best thing to happen to Roy is the day when Marty Brodeur is on track to demolish Roy's records with maybe the exception of overtime wins!

When you take the word CLASS to represent both Roy and Clark, you can take away the CL to represent the first few letters of CLark and the remaing three letters as in - ASS that truly represent Pat Roy!

Smuddan, don't bother with him. He just looks for any opportunity to jump into a Leaf thread and throw insults. He really is tiresome and not worth the effort.

Not really my usual rant I just asked a simple question.

As for Clark night being planned before the Roy night I stand corrected I thought it was the other way around. How do you know this to be true?
