Somebody mentioned BLONDIE…asked if SHE was still alive. For those that don’t know here’s some info. BLONDIE is a new wave/pop rock/punk/surfer BAND (what a mouthful
) from NYC circa late 70’s early 80’s. The band has kicked around with some different members over the decades but it’s the earliest iteration that was most successful according to sales.The lead singer is a stunning redhead with dyed blonde hair by the name of Debbie Harry. Chris Stein (the guitarist wearing the Fedora in the show attached here) was the musical backbone and Debbie was the attitude who also wrote lyrics.The drummer, Clem Burke, was top notch and his energetic play was a trademark of the band. Even in his 60’s he could still beat the shit out of a drum kit. Clem passed away just this month. Jimmy Destri on keyboards also contributed to the BLONDIE sound. In his 70’s he hasn’t been with the band since 2004. Nigel Harrison contributed base and Frank Infante was a guitarist. Neither one of them has played with the band since 1982. Debbie and Chris are still writing songs. I heard somewhere BLONDIE is to release new music in 2025. Debbie is 80 years old this year. I believe Chris is in his mid 70’s. ENJOY THE SHOW!
