Very interesting results! I am wondering though if we are seeing those who more "easily self-identify", or the real distribution.

No Ashkenazi or Sephardic Jew?

According to the now defunct "23andme" DNA analysis service I'm 97.5% Ashkenazi...
It still exists. I have not checked it out for quite a while. I believe I have mostly all northern European except for some Iberian(around 12 % if I remember correctly).

23andMe filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 2025 due to financial struggles and a major 2023 data breach that exposed millions of customer records. The bankruptcy allowed the company to be sold at auction, with its assets ultimately purchased by a non-profit founded by former CEO Anne Wojcicki in July 2025, who regained control of the company. This process has raised significant privacy concerns regarding the handling of the sensitive genetic data of its millions of users

My results only showed one first cousin as an identified relative, out of the 22 first cousins that exist.

I guess at that point in time she was the only one in my extended family who had also been tested.

No unknown offspring, thankfully, and so far no arrests for any criminal activity due to my DNA being on file... ;)

Interesting. Kids of two cousins also showed up as closest relatives to me although later on one went missing from the system.

My dad was born in Trinidad so I got some connection requests from that region.
