Get on at Kennedy. Get seat. Let luggage sit. Done. This is confusing for you?
lol
Getting from the east end to the airport with or without luggage is easy.
Next.
:D
Not every TTC station is what we would call "luggage-friendly". If you have to transfer, say from a local bus service to the GO or Scarborough RT, to the Yonge line, then to the Bloor line, then to the bus, with a couple pieces of luggage it can be a royal pain.

Try doing it at rush hour when you're trying to catch your flight and you're already stressed, tired, and irritable. Not a pleasant experience.

A fuck friend of mine challenged me last year to take the TTC. She said I wouldn't last 5 minutes. Took the challenge. So instead of taking the limo from my condo like I normally would, she took the limo and I started from her place in Scarborough. Walk to bus to York Mills to Bloor/Yonge to Kipling to bus again took about 3 hours door to door. It wasn't 'easy' but it wasn't too bad either. If I weren't a young fit man, it would be quite difficult - I had two pieces of luggage - a large roller and a small one. About 30 kilos in total. It was during morning rush hour, so I was standing for a bit more than half way too. The TTC is definitely not luggage friendly, nor was the one TTC employee the first bus driver) I met sympathetic or friendly.

I regularly take the GO Bus from York Mills station. Round trip for the -minute run to the airport is $8.40.

I have taken the TTC to the airport several times, and taken it home many more times. I tend to be less stressed out about timing issues on the way home and am more comfortable riding the subway in that case.

I have not had trouble with luggage on the subway, ever, although that might be because I generally limit myself to one suitcase and one carry-on bag. My suitcase, like almost all suitcases, has wheels and a handle i can pull it around by.

For those of you who like to speculate based on ignorance let me point out once again that I have actually done this many times. I live downtown, but the difference between getting on downtown and getting on at Warden is one of waiting while seated on a subway.

If you're the kind of person who needs to take three suitcases for a one week trip then the TTC is probably not appropriate for you, but since you're willing to pay all those extra baggage fees I imagine you can afford an airport limo too.

I done it as well and it isn't speculation. If you want it to work your timing must be superb and you must travel light.

If you are banging up and down escalators to the RL or to surface routes in rush hour...god help you. In can be done as rama putri pointing out but to say it is "easy" is a stretch.

Have you ever tried to drag luggage via RT, subway, bus? I have and it isn't quick or easy.
I have...took the RT from Scarboro Town Ctr years back with two full suitcases in the middle of winter. Its not as hard as people make it to be. The buses lower themselves, the subways have elevators. For a toonie I was not expect a chauffeur...

My friend is a very small female, and I'm sure she has a suitcase. I don't want to tell her to take the ttc if it's going to be a royal pain.

Someone mentioned that it isn't that bad. I noticed that even if it is difficult, the majority of the time people are willing to help. She's a very cute thing, so I'm sure many knights would be willing to assist.

If you're trying to get out of downtown in any sort of motor vehicle at rush hour god help you, in that case especially I'd rather be on the subway.

I wouldn't take the TTC if I were really pressed for time for my flight, and half the time my flight is so early in the morning that the subway isn't running, but I often take it on the return home when there is no time pressure.

That is why there should be an easier way to get to/from the airport at all times of the day.

I travel with the largest roll-aboard bag that fits in an overhead bin and a computer bag, and I've taken the TTC and 192 Bus (The Rocket) at least a dozen times - to and from downtown, at all hours of the day - and I've never had a problem. Stack the bags, keep them pulled close to you as you sit, or just wedge yourself into a place to stand and hang on.

If you're travelling with your Yorkville sweetie who comes with 4 pieces of accessorized luggage, I agree that public transportation is not practical. In that case look into an Airport Van service, or guilt a friend into driving you.
