Most stay in the hospital for the entire lengthening, though some people (like me, who hardly felt any pain) went lengthened at home. Clearly you cannot do much during recovery if you are still on crutches (that's where I'm at now). I hear that it takes about one year before you feel strong enough to do real physical activities again. If you want full detailed information, go to makemetaller.info forum, which is where I got all my info. I went to the Betz Institute in Germany to get mine done.
Thanks for the info...Mind to share the cost info? I heard it can get quite pricey (upwards of $125K)

Haha see... even you can't think of any benefits being short eh?

I will PM hyperdog couple years down the road and see how he's doing...Maybe he would help to refer me to that surgeon ?
I was responding to an earlier post and my concern was real. Don't do anything to your bone structure unless a certified doctor can assure you about any long term affects.

crap 25 years? How old is she? must have hooked up with him at age 20 or something. Even then she looks good at 45.
Hey Don,

It gets worst.....take a look at this girl....Not only this guy is short and ugly (physically and mentally) this is his daughter (Tamara).....thanks to his wife.

Moral of the story......just make money.....no leg extensions needed.

Depends on the kind of concert you're talking about. I can't easily fit into anything but an aisle seat.
Right...never wanna stand out (being too short or being too tall). However it's easier for tall people to slouch to make them looks shorter but impossible for short people to look taller besides putting on high heels...

Sigh...life is not fair

I went to the most expensive place, which cost me $75K. Most places, using external devices instead of internal, cost under $30K.

Thanks what about on-going maintenance? Do you have to do a regular "leg" check-up to see if the process is on track?

No it's not. One of the things that kills me to see are taller attractive young women who are in an almost permanent slouch to fit in with with their friends. Do that long enough and they will never straighten up.

Hey La Roche,

Like I wrote earlier, here is his quote from 2005....

"You know I've got one of those wonderful ideas ... women should be dressed in white like all the other domestic appliances."

I thought any guy who thinks of women this way has something wrong with him.

OIC...imagine if he is a penniless bum instead. Would the society think differently?

I bet you don't dread flying coach on an airplane for more than an hour. I used to work with a 6'6" guy with bad knees who did his darnest to make sure he gets a seat in the exit row. If he can't pick his seat ahead of time, he'll arrive 4 hours early so he can ask for an exit row seat and it will be free. And for times where he could not secure one, he'll have to beg people in those seats to switch seats with him. Even in an exit row seat, any flight over 2 hours is very tough on him unless he is flying business/first class (never), and he'll avoid long travel at all costs.

I was 5'5 in grade 6, I was the tallest one in my class until grade 9....even though I am 'only' 5'5 now I still feel like a giant and tend to slouch. Life sure is funny.

Most women don't find shortys attractive. Also most people in general have a bias against short men in general. Just sayin'.

$125 is not pricey. For that amount (which is doubtful) there would be hoards of short men lined up to get leg extensions.

Okay I imagined he is penniless. My judgement of him still stands. He compared women to appliances.

What does society have to do with my opinion? I make my own decisions.

Actually have any of you guys thought about this one?

He is actually smart to find a tall girl to breed for his next generation so they won't have to suffer the "small people" syndrome ( eg low self esteem, getting picked on, no dates...etc)

Coz I know a lot of "small people" ended up breeding with "small people" and the vicious circle begins. The next generation will get trapped in the "small people" curse to eternity. THe only way to break it is to find a "tall girl/guy" to breed with...

What do you think?

funny you bring that up. My mother is rather short (5'0') and she was worried that if she had a son, he'd be short and have a hard time. Hence she actively looked for someone much taller than her. My father, while not THAT tall, is a respectable 5'11" (and I am a touch under 5'10").

Way too simplistic. My Grandparents on my Father's side were both short, or as I used to say, well over 4' (joking). My Mom is on the short side at 5'3", my Dad was around 5'11". And then there's me. I've noticed that alot of kids, especially today, wind up being noticable taller than their parents.
