i didn't count one day and i had 10 items and the person behind me started to give me shit for it. i explained it was a simple miscount since i work midnights and i was on my way home and tired. i was told i was inconsiderate, insensitive and dumb. i asked her if she wanted to cut ahead of me since i was in the wrong and she no it was far to late for that and that next time i should send my wife unless she is a moron as well. so after 3 times trying to be very polite i decided to just be me and i waited till she had paid ( i took my time bagging my shit) and as she was leaving i spun very quickly and accidentally tripped her which caused her to land on all her shit crushing it all into her shirt and clothes. i laughed and said "thats fucking karma bitch" she followed me out the store cursing me out which made her look more insane.

thats what i always say. you can't sweat the small stuff and you can't change the big stuff. so just let it ride and see where it takes you.

This actually happened to me today, my daughter told the people this was the express lane only 12 items. They got out of line and went to a regular cashier. Other people in line said thanks to her. Lol
Don't count on that. The basic problem here is that supermarkers often don't have enough registers open to serve the volume of customers. Shop at 2 a.m. and you may find the express lane is the only lane open, and shoppers have to use it no matter how many items they have. Just make sure you don't get behind a shift worker doing the family shopping for the week.
one time a few years back, i was shopping and all the cashiers had line ups going down the aisles, and the express lane had just 1 customer so i got in that line. i had 16 items, before i knew it there was a lineup behind me. the lady right behind me kept looking at my cart and at the sign that said 10 items or less, she never said anything just looked annoyed. so i put 8 items on the belt, then one of those plastic dividers then my last 8 items. the look on her face was priceless, you could tell she was pissed, but she didnt know what to say.
