The Shivering Truth, (adult swim, 2018-20, 13 episodes, approximately 11.3 minutes per episode).

I downloaded this show last year, and have just started to watch it.

From wikipedia:

"When announced in a press release by Adult Swim in May 2017, The Shivering Truth was described as "a delicately crafted, darkly surreal anthology comedy, a miniature propulsive omnibus cluster bomb of painfully riotous daymares all dripping with the orange goo of dream logic. A series of loosely-linked emotional parables about stories within tales that crawled out of the deepest caverns of your unconscious mind and became lovingly animated in breath-slapping stop motion – in other words, it is the TRUTH" "

I would describe this show as what you would get if filmmakers like David Lynch and David Cronenberg directed episodes of Robot Chicken.
See post #834, (excerpt quoted above).

The Shivering Truth was removed for copyright claim, so if you had planned to watch these later, you're 'sol'

I'm re-watching Entourage. What a great series that was. You just won't see that kind of comedy in a show every again with how politically correct we all have to be now and with this new woke culture.

Disney had the golden egg in its hands and they dropped it.

When I found out that Carrie Anne Moss was in the series, I watched the first episode. AND THEY FUCKIN KILLED HER OFF. Here's the golden opportunity to create a Jedi worthy of Liam Neeson. Carrie Anne Moss is a bad ass, I watched it for her. After she was gone so was the show for me. I hope R2D2 is enjoying his new life.

Where would Keanu Reeves and Christopher Nolan be if Carrie Anne Moss hadn't entered their lives.

She's in the rest of the show since there are a bunch of flashbacks.
The worst thing is, there is a good show to be made out of the premise of The Acolyte - they just didn't make that show.

The Disney+ shows have mostly sucked.

Mandalorian was good in S1 and S2, and mediocre in S3.
Kenobi and Ashoka were sub-par.
Book of Boba Fett was just flat out bad.
Acolyte was bad.

Andor was spectacular, though.

Valcazar, I think you would enjoy "The War of the Stars", the 'grindhouse' cut of Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope.

I started Beacon 23 last night and I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with it.

It's very disjointed and a bit slow. Don't get me wrong, I've fine with shows that are a slow burn, it's what made Dark so great, but it doesn't feel like there's going to be any pay-off.

Just finished the midnight gospel. Heard about it on an Alan watts podcast commercial It’s animated and the animation was sometimes triggering and off putting but the messaging was great and quite the opposite of the imagery. I also don’t drink or do drugs but I’m sure if you do the imagery will take you places.

I also started Kaos this weekend and it's been pretty great so far. It's essentially a modern retelling of the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice set in a world where worship of the Greek gods is the dominant religion and the gods are real. It has Jeff Goldblum playing Zeus so I was sold based on that alone!

If you're a fan of Good Omens, it's right up your alley.

I just started 3 Body Problem. I'm about 1 and a half episodes in and it looks like it could be pretty good. "Sam Tarly" is in it.

I've been in the mood to re visit the 90s and 00s
I've Samsung TV plus. It's a free streaming ad supported TV service that comes with Samsung TV's and it's amazing! It's basically dedicated channels to one TV show and they just keep lopping a bunch of seasons. I'm always watching Baywatch re-runs, COPS, and Forensic files, plus I watch the 80's and 90's music stations that play old videos. I watch this more then I watch my Rogers package. It's amazing.

I also watch court TV.

Just started watching The Night Agent on Netflix. It's from 2023. It's a thriller type show. If you're a fan of governement/spy shows it's definitely worth checking out.

I took Caitlin Clarke recommendation, started watching Ripley. The show has impressive pedigree, it's the same production company that made James Gaondolfini's The Night Of... Andrew Scott played Dr. Moriarty in the Sherlock series.

Disney lost $250 million on The Acolyte. Like Tony Soprano, everything they touch turns to shit. They keep bringing in mediocre actresses that can't carry a project, CC projects her voice better than Amandla Stenberg.

I watched the second episode of the new season of SNL. Hit and miss as usual.

The host was Nate Bergatze, a relatively unknown standup comedian. On this episode of SNL he did a great skit as George Washington, crossing the Delaware, and making fun of the American language and system of measurements.

Nate's various specials are a better representation of his dry humour.

In the final sketch of the show they paid tribute to "Friday Night Lights", with the team wearing "Lions" red and white uniforms, just before the "State Championship" game, as in the East Dillon Lions. I was surprised as Friday Night Lights was first televised about 20 years ago, and just a few days ago I had finished watching it on DVD's for the first time since originally viewing it . Imho one of the best TV series of all time, and I guess it stuck in one of the SNL writer's memories as well...
