The only thought that goes into deal or no deal is that calculation that the banker makes..... which is a combination of your odds of winning and the amount of money remaining. IF the player knows that calculation they can use it to help gauge whether or not to take the bankers offer but other than that..... no skill.

My favourite game show has to be 1 vs 100. Cool idea plus I love trivia.
Deal or no deal is the worst , at the beginning at least some of the contestants were interesting people who you wanted to win, now they get complete morons who don't know when to quit and act like complete idiots for the whole show . They bring idiot friends who advise them no deal when the have a 60 k offer 4 boxes left 1 big amount then $ 5 $ 10 $ 50
take the f ing deal . Honestly these people act like idiots, they make me want to throw up. I have seen at least 4 people recently walk away with nothing because they said no deal with only 1 large amount left .

Actually it's not as stupid as you make it sound (although I think you are right that they are doing it for a stupid reason: pure greed). If you think about it, if the remaining 4 totals are say 750,000 / 1000 / 25 / 0.01 , then statistically you have a good chance of picking one of the low figures to boost you payout. I'd still give it a good long thought before doing it though but it isn't without reasonable merit.

Of course, you're gambling at this point and you need to realize that and not be unhappy when the gamble doesn't pay out.

Your argument is exactly what Howie uses to entice people to go on .
I know exactly the statistic but a gambler knows when to quit , would you pull a trigger with 1 bullet and 4 chambers ? How can you not be unhappy if you go home with nothing and you were offered say 60 k with only 1 big amount left that's the time to gooooo if you don't you are an idiot, look at the people they pick I think they try to find the idiots.

On the other hand, Howie is always talking about the safety net to the contestants. That is still having two big amounts left on the board. If a contestant is dumb enough to continue playing with only one big amount, then he or she deserves to go home with $5 IMO.

How about the dumbest game show host ever? That has got to be Burt Convey on "Win, Lose or Draw". I remember thinking what a complete idiot he was after several celebrity guests made some jokes and these went over his head but he laughed anyway at something totally unrelated. For some reason I despise him so much I still want to kick his ass.
