What's with the Body Shop Manor in Guelph?

Was at the Manor in Guelph on Friday - got there at 10 left at midnight - what's with this place? Some very strange things going on - there's a guy in the bathroom who scared the hell out of me when I walked in and it was like a freeway for ugly fat chicks. When I questioned a bouncer, I think he was like 50, he said that they were going to the male revue downstairs. Last thing I need is some fat chick walking past me in the nudie bar I get enough of that at home! On the plus side there were several good looking ladies on stage successively for about an hour but they never circulated, then they all disappeared, and the same 5-6 tired looking broads wandered around. No feature??? The last straw was when a "lady" who had to be 6'6" and 300lbs keep bothering us for a "flamingo" dance - we said no 3 times before she told us we were assholes and flipped us off. A bouncer then told us to leave but couldn't give us a reason just told us to go. Now you can believe me or not but we were not rowdy nor abusive - for 3 guys in their 30's we were actually low key and behaving ourselves - we were not drunk. I was told by many that this place was awesome - did we just go on a weird night or what? Is this typical of this place?

I wonder if your attitude from Friday night was at all like todays?

A small hint, we try to have a little more class when posting here, it goes a long way to credibility & longevity!

This past Friday night was rather lame and certainly not up to their usual quality. Seems like another shuffle may be underway as I also noticed a few more ex-Manor ladies at the Dollhouse. Pretty tough to get kicked out of the Manor though.

Dude, I know I'm new here but I'm trying to be honest. Please understand my frustration - we didn't do anything wrong. Try to trust me I have been to clubs many times before and I really don't understand what happened at this one in Guelph. Maybe it was a bad night and the stars were aligned against us or something. My buds and I are not "bad" guys. My question was: Is this normal for the body shop manor? Should we try again?

I'm not doubting your frustration, I was merely trying to point out that a little more tact in your posts could go a long way to gain respect, and an attitude often has a bearing on how "fun" your night is,,,,
There's many many negative reviews on here,but we like to see them done with a bit less crudeness.
I can count on 2 hands the number of times Ive been to the Manor, I've always had fun there, never noticed anything out of the ordinary, but perhaps more frequent goers can give more insight, as Calloway has done already

I've been there every week for fourteen years. Never had a bad night there. I think I saw you guys being tossed last Friday night. Didn't hear what the reasons were though. Were you guys sitting in the front row?

Uh sorry man I don't know what to tell you? Maybe - we sat kind of to the right of the stage on a landing of some sort. We didn't get "tossed" - the bouncer was actually very professional and politely asked us to leave quietly. I think one of the girls complained to him/them about us. But for what I can't tell you - I'm still dumbfounded Maybe one of my buds did something I don't know about - who knows? I think I'll try the place again when I'm in Guelph again in a few weeks by myself and get the real picture. I'm told Thursday's are the best night to go. Cheers.

That Sasquatch 'dancer' has been there forever...prob in the top 10 most hideous beasts I've ever seen peddling at a SC...she's really obnoxious too and walks around like she owns the joint.

My guess is you insulted her, whether on purpose or not, and she used her tenure to get you tossed.

As for the lack of hot chicks..that is pretty wierd...though that flamingo room has a knack of swallowing up the good girls for a long time...it's pretty quiet back there. Just a tip though, when the bouncer brings you your drink, throw him some dough...maybe a ten or so...he tends to forget you are there if you tip him.

Finally had a chance to get back to this club on Wednesday when I was in Guelph. It was absolutely dead at 7pm so I went for a bite and returned at 9pm. A little better but it was the same 4-5 girls over again. I asked a employee there (I think a bartender but no one wears uniforms so it could have been a bouncer) what was up? He proceeded to tell me that the Manor almost consistently relys on "freelancers" to beef up the population of dancers there. He said in his experience the club these days is hit and miss on whatever night the majority of freelancers show up. He said some regulars went to the "Dollhouse" with a shake up recently. With a grain of salt I thanked him and left at 10pm. I gave it two tries so. . . . . . out.

Can anyone give a description of Barbie? I knew a girl who was / is friends with Nomi and I was always curious if she took the plunge into the world of dancing.

I agree with that hammer - the girls can be relentless at the dollhouse - especially the ones you would rather throw a 20 just to leave you alone (thanks for that line Rogie) - but there are a number of attractive ladies there and I'd rather they ask me to dance instead of sitting and chatting with a group of friends all night (seen this way too many times at the manor) - I have no problem approaching a lady for a dance but I don't want to ask if they are sitting with someone.

Rip, Last time I saw Barbie, she had blond corn row hair, very pretty and thin, with a Barbie tattoo ( i think it was on her lower back). Never got dances from her, but wanted to. Nomi was a lot of fun though...too bad she retired ( for me, good for her though).

Barbie is always changing her hair. Its always a shade of blonde though. She does have `Barbie' tattooed on her lower back. She is very cute and slim and very friendly. Unfortunately (for us) she has gone to school so that makes her appearances at the Manor much more difficult. She has told me that she will make an effort to show up at the Manor on Friday nights so that she can tend to her regulars. For this week, she will be at the Manor on Friday during the day till about 8:00pm. She has other commitments on Friday night that make it impossible for her to work.

Rip. I'm not sure you are thinking of the same girl because Barbie has been dancing for at least 2 years now and I think she only met Nomi at the Manor about a year ago. I could be wrong though. Next time I'm talking to Barbie, I'll ask her about this.

Just talked to Barbie. She only knew Nomi from the time she started coming to the Manor which was about a year ago.
