Many books are basically worthless. Look at donating them. Selling them is a very tedious job that doesn't pay very well.

1000 is a lot of books for a one-time donation to public library.

If it is not too much trouble I'll pick out a handful of
books in good condition and take them to university
or local library.

If possible you may want to sort out books that are sold at
good prices on Amazon and Ebay. You may be surprised by
how much people value old books and dvds of films and
music. It is indeed a lot of trouble to sell them but chance
is you may be able to find someone who is happy to take
those books that can fetch a good price.
If they are out of print, they can be quite expensive!

Well, his cousin and him counted 914 books, holy shit. Took them over a day and a half in between other things at their place.

anywhere i want;)
helping my friend with his basement and there are easily over 1000 books. lol
Selling would be tedious and no time to wait, any suggestions?
The library is your best bet. Although I have heard that some retail book stores might take them if they are not too worn out. I would check with them first though.
