Ok maybe your right ........I should be focusing on your cannaloni instead of other meatballs LOL

On a serious note I really need to find a nice Italian restaurant or I will have to travel once again

For me, the romantic setting depends on the partner.
Oh yes, the wine is a big help.

There's 3 Italian ones listed here, no idea if they are worth checking out.

I remember one called Gio's off Dunlop that I liked, but I'm not really a discriminating eater.
If it's Italian it's all good to me.

There used to be a very nice place off of the 400 at Dunlop in the mini plaza on the right, before the Tim Hortons. Excellent food and atmosphere. I am not sure if it's still open

One good turn deserves another. There is a place across from the no frills out near Johnson called ginos or minos that is authentic fare. I have only done takeout though. There is also a place in the Bryne industrial area just across from the rear exit of the Sobey's mall. Don't eat in, as the interior is blah. They do offer pans of lasagna and other authentic entrees at excellent prices. Take it home and have a really romantic meal

hey gravytrain thanks for the input

I believe that place is called Ninos on dunlop which turns into blake street and yes it was more of my style ..food was fantastic

Yes the one at byrne drive inside interior is not a warm setting at all ...more like a takeout sandwich place

however I like to try new places and price is my least concern ...Im striving for upscale classy romantic atmosphere ..if they have live music played to you even better

Someone did pm me about a small Italian restaurant that looks like a house with a private setting but did not know the name

My favorites I frequent are in Toronto but when the weather gets nasty in the winter its nice to have a second choice near by

Svend I just noticed your post LOL its amazing what a good bottle of homade wine can do LOL

I haven't been there for several years but the Pizzeria Italia Restaurant is still in operation on Mulcaster Street, just up the hill from Dunlop, left hand side. Quiet relaxed atmosphere and good homemade food last time I was there. Used to go there a lot while growing up.

Too Far North
Casa Mia on Dunlop. Gio's on Anne St. Both are excellent.
